A group of three etchings of New York City subject matter, each pencil signed and titled by the artist LEON LOUIS DOLICE (1892-1960). The three titles are "Fish Market", "Metropolitan Tower", and "NJ Waterfront". "Metropolitan Tower" is the largest, the printed area measuring 10 1/4" by 7 1/4"; the other two are 7 1/2" by 6" (printed area). Interestingly the prints are all printed off-center or otherwise at irregular angles on the sheets...

A black ink on paper drawing , unframed, 19 1/2" by 16 1/2", signed at lower right with the "F.M." initials of noted American artist, muralist and illustrator FLETCHER MARTIN (1904-1979). The subject is a cavalier-type man and a woman in 18th century dress. This might have been executed as illustration of a published story or book, or perhaps as stage design. There is some white gouache at upper right...

A finely worked original pastel of a Native American girl dancing in an interior defined by an arch, the work signed at lower left by artist CARLOS FREY (1938-). The piece is in remarkable condition, bearing framing label from Nebraska stating that it was framed to museum standards. Frey has a website outlining his long career in the arts. He works in many media, including photography, and sells originals and various types of reproductions of his works...

Engraving on paper, the sheet 16" by 13 /4" (23 3/4" by 20" as framed), the subject man's cruelty to animals. This work, part of a series of images dealing with the subject, has become over time a landmark commentary on man's cruelty to his fellow creatures. This print is by one of the most famous satirists and social commentators of all time, WILLIAM HOGARTH of England (1697-1764)...

A well-painted oil on canvas (laid on board), 19 1/4" by 25 1/4" in later silvery-gold frame, signed at lower left "Lillian Reynolds" and dated there 1953. The scene is the timeless, shifting sands of the California desert, likely in the Palm Springs region. There does not appear to be information on an artist by this name, but that does not mean that she was not talented. There are a few light surface scratches and light soiling naturally accumulated over sixty plus years...

Pastel on paper, 21 1/2" by 16" and narrow frame, signed at lower right by well listed WAYNE LA COM (1922-). La Com is known for his skilled watercolors in the 20th century California Scene style. See the askart listing on him and his work. Photos taken at angles to minimize reflections.

Watercolor measuring 14 1/4" by 20 1/2" plus 2" wide wood inexpensive frame, by listed Irish artist JOSEPH WILLIAM CAREY (1859-1937), signed J.W. CAREY and titled at lower right "Loch Lochy/Caledonian Canal" and dated 1920. There is an old 1920's or 1930's Belfast label on the reverse wood from William Rodman and Company, 41 Donegall Place BELFAST. This piece is showing its age, as it has evidently traveled through life for some time without protective glass...

ONE OF TWO OF THIS SAME PRINT IN MY SHOP, lithograph print in elegant gray and white on black paper, 27" by 22", (and 33 1/2" by 27" in silvery modern frame), pencil signed at lower right, and numbered 5/100 at lower left. The title is "Daphne and Apollo", the imagery consisting of idealized male and female figures with leafy trees in the background, creating a most interesting and modern composition that looks almost like a "solarized" photo...

Watercolor on paper of shrimp trawlers in a harbor, 18" by 24" and about 3" of mat and frame on a side, signed at lower left "R. Hal Burriss". This is a clean, fresh watercolor by a noted American artist associated with Florida and Louisiana. The work reminds a bit of that of Rolland Golden, a popular New Orleans, Louisiana artist who often worked in watercolor, depicting similar subject matter...

Painting signed Fang Zhaoling , (yes this is an emulation), dimensions are 87cm x95cm , with mounting 215cm/84in and W: 112cm/44in Fang Zhaoling (Chinese: 方召麐, 17 January 1914 – 20 February 2006), also known as Lydia Fong, was a Chinese painter and calligrapher. She a led fascinating and turbulent life eventually settling in Hong Kong in 1948. Her daughter is Anson Chan. The painting is well mounted on a traditional scroll.

Beautiful floral print full color framed and matted 13x10” In a gilt frame

One of an identically framed pair of Currier trotter horse prints in my shop, this example, "The Grand Horse ST. JULIEN, the 'King of Trotters'." (measuring 11 1/2" by 14 1/2" inside the mat, and 19" by 23" framed), is in very good condition. The print is after a painting by the noted American artist Scott Leighton. I have not examined it out of the frame but for the most part, the kinds of problems that most Currier and Ives print acquire over time are not present...

Charcoal on layered washi (Japanese paper) stuck on wooden canvas, 53 x 65.5 x 1.5cm (20.86 x 25.78 x 0.59in), by Eiki Tsukioka (1916-1997), as one of the leading Showa's Nihonga (Japanese-style painting) painter with very unique and alternative worldview, once as the pupil of a master, Seison Maeda (1885-1977)...

A framed woodblock print by the hand of one of the masters of 20th century Japanese printmaking, 8 1/2" by 11 1/4" inside the existing mat, 15" by 18" framed, signed in pencil by the artist at lower right and numbered 43/120 at lower left margin in pencil. The image is of a nighttime snowfall in front of a traditional Japanese structure. Sekino was creating art before age 20. He knew Shiko Munakata, the famous printmaker, while still young, as they were from the same area...
