The miniature is in excellent condition, with no problems or restoration. The brass case is also without flaws. The photo of the back does appear to have blemishes, but these are label residues...

A charming painting done in watercolor on organic material. The child, identified as E.A. Brown (1845-1850) is portrayed against a pink and blue clouded background, indicative that this is a mourning memento. Paintings of young children are always highly sought after and collected.

The painting is in excellent condition, with no issues. The case is damaged on the back, with a section missing, which does not detract from the desirability of this little gem. The size is 1 5/8" by 1 1/4".

Mid nineteenth century watercolor, gouache and gum arabic drawing on paper of a young woman with the ringlet hair and prim dark dress fashionable at the time, holding the back of a Hitchcock chair, all against an extensive landscape. The drawing measures 6" by 4 1/4" inside the mat, and comes with a newish 1" wide gold colored frame. I don't see a signature. The gum arabic has oxidized and aged and is crackly, with tiny losses in the sleeve, and her lower face has lost some detail...

Set against a darkish green background, he is wearing a black jacket, vest, and tie with a stickpin. In a cast foliate case with a coil of plaited hair in the glazed window on the reverse.

Condition is excellent, with no issues. Sight size is 2 1/8" by 1 3/4", and the overall size is 2 3/8" by 2".

The work measures 8 1/2" by 13 1/2" (10 1/2" by 15 1/2" in older 20th century frame). The work is very typical of his paintings, many of which show ice skaters in the winter. This etching is signed lower left corner of the image, printed on a thin Japan type laid paper. According to the Glascow catalog this is state V/V before the plates cancellation. The image measures 6 1/4X3 1/2 inches.
