A small oil on canvas board painting of Lake Como, Italy, signed at lower right by California listed artist LUCY SCHNABEL (1844-1938). The work measures 10" by 14" and is unframed. The view is of famously scenic Lake Como in northern Italy, with snow capped peaks in the distance. A few figures are present in the foreground, and the architecture along the lake shore fills the middle. The artist was born in Wisconsin and was in San Francisco by about 1860...

This great original, watercolor painting is done by one of New Orleans' finest, well-known artist. It features a great adaptation of Bourbon Street in New Orleans, showing the New Orleans Jazz and the well-known jazz bar, "The Cats Meow." The artist is Donabeth Jones, known as "The Hungry Artist," from the Hungry Artist Studio. It is an original, signed and titled. It is framed and matted, measuring 19 1/2" x 16". Pastel drawing on thin brown paper of tenement building in NYC, depicting an amorous couple inside the front door, two faces looking out upstairs, in WPA style, very folky and charming by Helen Malta. Measures 17 1/4" high and 11 1/2" wide. Signed at bottom right. Condition shows losses to edges and 1" tear at upper left side, the paper is very soft and fragile. Should be handled carefully before matting and framing...

Small (8 1/2" by 7" framed) painting of a Russian Orthodox cathedral, dated 1998, ink writing in Russian at bottom. The colorful swirling domes resemble those on Saint Basil's in Moscow, but this is not an urban scene. Condition is excellent.

Oil on canvas painting of a classic red barn in Alaska's Matanuska Valley near Anchorage, signed at lower left by artist Ted Goldstone and dated 3/69 and titled on stretcher. The Matanuska Valley is known as Alaska's prime agricultural area. The long hours of daylight in summer have produced record cabbages, among other produce. The high surrounding mountains remind one that one is in Alaska and not the Midwest. The art measures 16" by 12".

Small "cabin art" painting of a lake landscape, of a type painted from about the 1930's through 1950's, framed in rough wood with some gilt remaining. The painting, 8 1/2" by 13" framed, has a rustic feel that will make it an excellent addition to a small wall in your lake or mountain hideout.

Alfred Hair (American, 1941-1970) was an early Florida Highwaymen painter. This large painting depicts two leaning palm trees just above a beach with two high tide lines of debris, curling waves and seagulls all under a sunny but partially cloudy sky. Signed, “A. Hair” lower left. The painting is 24 ¼ x 36 ¼ inches. The apparently original frame is 29 ½ x 41 ½ inches. Painted on panel (Upson board).

A striking c1790 miniature by Richard Cosway...

A fine miniature portrait by Augustus Fuller, done on natural material. The sitter is an attractive hazel-eyed woman sporting sausage curls and wearing a white lace bonnet, a white lace fichu with a centered brooch, and a black dress. Fuller took pains in this painting to the extent of showing details of the dress design with faint white highlights, shown in the second photo.

The condition of the painting is excellent, and viewed in person the miniature is far better than the photo shows...
