Alfred Fontville De Breanski was one of seven children born to the prolific British landscape painter Alfred De Breanski (1852-1928).Though his paintings emanate those of his father in palette and subject matter, his landscapes are executed in a slightly less formal style. His main body of work concentrates on the effects of sunlight on the Highland scenery at different times of the day...
Oil on canvas, 12" by 18" (15" by 21" as framed), the subject a subtly rendered impressionist scene of large trees by a wide river, with just scant human activity present in the form of a few figures in a tiny boat in the middle distance, and a structure on the far shore. Executed in a silvery, cool palette of grays, tans and greens, this is a typical work of the well listed Scottish artist ROBERT RUSSELL MACNEE (1880-1952)...

Original ink on paper drawing of four ducks in flight over a swamp or marsh, circa 1930's, signed at lower right with initials "P.Z.", which appears to correspond with inscription on backing "Painted or sketched by Paul Zeeze". At top on backing, is written "James Zeeze". Online research suggests the name may be found in Minnesota, which would make sense with duck habitat. Measures 10" by 6 1/4" inside the mat and 14 3/4" by 10 3/4" in black strip frame.
TWO pen and ink drawings, identical size and frames, 9 7/8" by 7 5/8", one titled "Down the Gulch" and the other "Slave Quarters, Glen Haven, Colo.", each signed "A.C." and one dated 1936. I don't know who "A.C." might be/have been, but, if you collect Colorado art, you might like this pair of drawings of a mountain road and a mountain cabin. You might wish to reframe them. If anyone knows who the artist is, please do let me know.
