A fine circa late 19th century watercolor painting of one of the famous narrow canals of Venice, Italy, the canal offset by sun-washed buildings, signed at lower right by listed Italian artist LUIGI LANZA (1860-1913). The work measures 7" by 11 1/2" inside the mat and 13 1/2" by 17 1/2" simply framed. A circa late 1940's to mid 1950's gallery label from Chicago remains affixed to the backing.
