Antique (19th century) hand-colored print of flowers, possibly columbine among them, in a contemporary gold frame with contemporary expensive hand-drawn "French panel" mat. The print and mat and frame are in exceptional, wall-ready condition. Measurements 9 1/4" by 7 1/4" (19" by 17" framed). See other botanical prints in my shop. Allow for a number of reflections in the glass in some images.

An original, vintage 1987 poster for the National Gallery of Art's 1987-1988 exhibition of the works of famed American modernist artist GEORGIA O'KEEFFE (1887-1986). The offset poster measures 40" by 25 1/2" as framed. Condition is very good, with only a slight damp stain at lower right margin area. O'Keeffe is today one of the most popular American artists. Her modernist works of New York and the American Southwest can bring many millions of dollars at auction...

Oil on canvas landscape of a red-painted fishing shack or summer cottage on an idyllic lake, other cottages in the distance, 15" by 18 1/2" (20" by 22 1/2" as framed), signed at lower right "K. Andor". I thought this scene perhaps Swedish, but the name Andor is Hungarian...

Found recently in Maine, this is an antique oil on board painting, 12" by 14 3/4" as framed, unsigned, the subject purple grapes and a ripe peach, the autumnal grape leaf suggesting the season of harvest, all on a marble ledge or table, with a distant view beyond. The gray academy board, style and framing suggest a date of execution of about 1880. The painting is very American in feeling, bordering on folk art as there's a naivete. The frame has wear and an obvious loss at lower left corner...

Oil on canvas painting of fruits, bottles and other objects, painted in a highly impressionist style, 12" by 16", unframed. The painting bears a signature "G d E" at lower right, added later (very obviously "floats"---dark under UV light) for French artist Georges d'Espagnat (1870-1950). So we have here a likely American painting, I think circa 1950's or so, that is very nicely done and quite decorative. There's very small paint loss at lower edge from past frame abrasion...

This is an unsigned, unframed, double-sided watercolor on heavy watercolor paper, 14 1/2" by 10 1/4", one side featuring a partially nude woman with arms behind her head, a decorative flowered textile of some sort covering the lower portion of her body; the other side features an outdoor amphitheater nighttime performance---perhaps, it has been suggested, the Hollywood Bowl. The vintage piece was acquired from a large collection of art that came from the estate of Brooks Pettus (1918-2003)...

Banksy is world-renowned for graffiti art with political themes and dark humor. His spontaneously-appearing works are found on walls, and bridges in many nations, and his art has become a worldwide cultural phenomenon, genuine paintings and prints bringing very large sums at auction. This work, on canvas, unframed, measures 8" by 24", is not a genuine work of the artist, but could be said to be in his style...

In the style of the well known Gianni family of artists, is this watercolor painting of the famous trellised terrace on the world famous dramatic Italian coast, signed at lower right "A. Hunt" and titled there "Amalfi". The piece measures 7 1/4" by 13 1/2" (14" by 20" as framed). The work has some oxidation of the paper and a small dig hidden in the coastal promontory at right center but overall it has survived quite well, considering its travels without glass...

Watercolor and gouache impressionist painting of the Dead Sea in Israel, signed in pencil at lower right in modern Hebrew script as "Hana Bar(-on)" or "Chana Bar(-on) and dated there 1970. Below that in Hebrew is written "iam hamelach" (Dead Sea). I am not able to read Hebrew but was able to show this to a Hebrew reader. The work measures 13 1/2" by 19 1/4", and is presently unframed. It can be shipped between boards or in the plastic poster box in which it is presently loosely housed...

Oil on canvas still life painting in a very minimal modernist style, with lots of white background giving the painting a very contemporary, airy feel, 18" by 24", in strip frame, signed in pencil somewhat illegibly at lower right. The signature appears to start with "Sarah" or "Sarai", the last name likely beginning with a "T". Painting is in fine condition overall though I note several small smudges at lower center...

French Miniature Portrait, Well executed French miniature painting, depicting an 18th century lady in impressive attire wearing fashionable hat, the portrait is 2.5"H x 2"W housed in a 5.5"H x 4.5"w oval shape wooden frame. For the Anglophile, this is a piece of classic old England, a watercolor, 10" by 14", (16 3/8" by 20" as framed), signed at lower left by artist MICHAEL VICARY, the scene a narrow riverboat barge on the Thames under the classic view of Windsor Castle outside London. A few pieces by Vicary have crossed the auction block, but the main appeal of the work lies in its fine detail and craftsmanship...

A beautifully painted work, 10 1/4" by 14 1/4" inside the mat, unframed, apparently by a Massachusetts artist by the name of Edith Currier Walker. This was purchased in Newburyport, Massachusetts, in a shrink wrap sleeve, with a handwritten label that stated this was by an Edith Currier Walker. The work is not signed on the front but on the reverse is some writing that looks like "E v. C Wa....."...

A watercolor on paper of people conversing and socializing in a square or city street, the sheet 15" by 11", the drawing 12 1/2" by 8 1/2" (22 1/2" by 18" in newish gold framing), the work indecipherably signed in red below the linen mat. Watercolor on paper painting of a mid nineteenth century American house, 9 1/2" by 6 1/2" (17" by 13" framed), signed at lower right "Barney Moore" and dated there 1941. I do not see information on the artist but he was obviously talented. The house is of an architectural style that would have been common in the 1860's or 1870's, in many American neighborhoods east of the MIssissippi. Condition is excellent. Someone wrote "Moore 1946" on the reverse paper.
