Original oil on canvas by Dorothy Eaton (American/ 1893-1968), signed l.l. "Dorothy Eaton" and dated 1957 on the back. This painting measures 25" by 30". It is in excellent untouched original condition, and is offered in a newer gallery frame. Dorothy Eaton is very well listed, with auction records over ten thousand dollars. She studied at the ASL with Kenneth Hayes Miller. Some of her works are exhibited in the Smith College Museum of Art in Northampton, MA.

Oil on canvas landscape painting of a traditional home at the edge of a pond in mid summer, 20 1/2" by 17 1/4" (24 1/2" by 21" framed in older gold interesting frame), signed at lower right corner J. D. Prenne or possibly J.De Prenne. I do not see a listing for that name as spelled but will continue to search. The painting is very nicely executed and pleasing to the eye; it's a very relaxing and calming view...

Likely painted for the southern tourist trade between about 1920 and 1950 or so, is this oil on a slice of palmetto wood, roughly oval shape, approximate dimensions 10" by 13", the slab 1" thick, signed at bottom left in the image "A. Donhauser". This locale could be anywhere from Texas through Georgia, given the Spanish Moss on the tree. The palmetto slab is unusual and adds interest. An unusual item. There is a small loss on the tree trunk.

This work came out of an eclectic collection of mostly mid 20th century Hawaiian art, much of it apparently purchased in Hawaii at that time; this one retains an old label on stretcher from Sima's Art Gallery, Ala Moana Center, Honolulu 14, Hawaii...

Hans Kleiss was an Orientalist/ Africanist painter, illustrator, and caricaturist. He was the husband of Orientalist painter Yvonne Kleiss/Herzig. They both lived for long periods of time in North Africa (Morocco and Algeria). They settled together in Sidi Slimane (Morocco) in the early fifties before returning to France...

Oil on masonite panel painting of a Texas landscape with oaks and bluebonnet in the spring, 16" by 20", unframed, signed at lower left by artist Nancy McDonald. According to the daughter of the artist, Nancy's paintings were sold in the San Antonio area. She belonged to the River Art Group for many years. McDonald passed away in 2011. The painting is attractive and squarely within the "Bluebonnet School" tradition of Texas art...

Oil on canvasboard circa 1960 painting of a variety of flowers in a ceramic yellow vase artistically placed on a textile with another ceramic vessel nearby, signed at lower left "Betty Way". The work, which measures 24" by 18", also bears a label on the reverse with the artist's name and address in Springfield, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia. To date I have not located a known artist by this name. A Betty Way of Harrisburg, PA was a newspaper circulation manager...
