Etching of the famous Chicago River surrounded by the classic skyscrapers, signed in the plate and dated 1927 at lower right, by the listed artist OTTO J. SCHNEIDER (1875-1946). The print does not appear to be pencil signed. Note the fine detail and the 1920's automobiles in the image at right corner. Schneider was born in Illinois and is most closely associated with that state. He exhibited at the Louisiana Purchase Exposition of 1904, and the Panama Pacific Exposition of 1915...

Japanese contemporary studio ware ceramic vase. Made with reddish clay and sculpted in a rounded triangular form with three large flat sides. Three curved triangular shoulders taper downward. Covered with a thick translucent white glaze with pleasing drips and crackles.

This is an example of Haku Maki’s production of small prints that were known as San Mon Ban. These prints were usually 2in x 2in but there were instances of larger ones. This one measures 6in x 6in. Dan Tretiak writes that Haku Maki began creating San Mon Ban in early 1975, a set of seven volumes of small prints. For some he used themes from the past, others were new themes that he used again and again in succeeding years. A small rendering for collectors to add to their holdings.

Three small works offered together, all by listed California artist TERESA (TESS) RAZALLE-CARTER (1888-1972). The works, two signed with monogram and one as "Carter", are a small impressionist ocean scene, a landscape of a tree against a sunset, ("Lost On the Salt Flats/August 1971" inscription), and a small Merry Christmas greeting in ink and white gouache. A pen and ink with grey wash drawing on laid paper of mostly sail boats in what appears to be an estuary with a substantial building in the distance and an expansive sky framed in an older, probably early 20th century, mat and worn gilt frame. On the back of the drawing in pencil are various writings including, “Van de Velde” in the upper left corner. Though the writing is considerably later than the drawing it is a solid attribution to the Van de Velde family of painters...

A beautifully painted unframed work by an anonymous talented hand, late 20th century or later, on canvas, 26 1/2" by 22 1/2", featuring an old-country view of house and courtyard in a valley setting. The flickering, spontaneous impressionist brushwork is impressive. Sadly, the artist did not sign the piece. Excellent condition, needing only a frame.

Oil on canvas painting, 18 1/2" by 24 1/2" including the thin red wood frame, circa 1960's or 1970's, signed on the stretcher "John J. Molino". I don't see a listing for the name so offer the painting as a decorative mid century item. It is quite a colorful and dramatic work and will beautifully complement your Eames Era modern decor.
