Lester Stevens was a landscape painter and teacher from the Boston school of painting. He was born in Rockport, MA in 1888 and he died in Greenfield, MA in 1969. He studied with Parker S. Perkins in Rockport; Tarbell and Benson at Boston's Museum School; and in Europe after World War I. A color print of the year 1930, issued by Frost and Reed of Bristol and London, titled "The Pytchley Huntsman--Frank Freeman on Pilot", after a painting by the famous English equestrian artist ALFRED JAMES MUNNINGS (1878-1959), measuring 20" by 19 3/4" inside the existing linen mat and 31" by 30 1/2" in the wood framing. The print is NOT pencil signed. Munnings is perhaps the pre-eminent painter of all things horses, at least among 20th century artists...

Still Life With Game, depicting a hare was done circa 1910 in oil on canvas. The painting is very fine and recalls the Still life’s by Manet and others just a few years earlier. The work is done in a highly impressionist style

This 1926 etching by the American artist, John Taylor Arms, measures 10 3/4 x 9 7/8 inches, pencil signed and dated, also called "The Cathedral of Notre Dame, From the Lower Town", edition of 100, from his French Church Series #8, cat: Fletcher 181, printed by Frederick Reynolds. This etching won the "John G. Agar Prize, Fifth Annual Exhibition by Living American Etchers, National Arts Club, New York, N.Y." in 1927.

John Sloan 1871-1951 American This is an original etching by American Ash Can School artist John Sloan. The title is: Boys Sledding, it was created and printed in 1920 in an edition of 100. This impression is hand signed in pencil, titled and annotated a "100 Proofs in the lower border. The image mesures 5 1/4X6 15/16 inches. Printed on a medium weight wove type sheet, with tack holes where the artist held the sheet down to dry. Very fine condition.

Fernand Leger, French,1881-1955. This stunning example of Fernand Leger's imagery at his early cubust period in the 1920's is pencil on paper. It is 21.5cm w by 25cm h in a beautiful frame 45cm w by 47.5cm h. It is signed lower left F. L. 20. Fernand Léger was born in 1881, the same year both Picasso and Braque were born, in Normandy; his father was a substantial cattle grazer. Fernand was trained as an architectural draughtsman and later worked as a professional retoucher of photographs...

Aquatint on paper laid on board, 1924, "Le Village d'Herouville", 18 3/4 " by 24" inside the mat, and 26 1/4" by 31" framed, after an original by the famous and important French modern artist MAURICE de VLAMINCK (1876-1958), adopted for reproduction by equally noted artist Jacques Villon (11875-1963). Vlaminck is known as a Fauvist and later simply as an expressionist. At auctions, his works in oil bring from the low hundreds of thousands of dollars to the low millions...
