In its original frame and still bearing an exhibition label from the James McCray Exhibition at the San Francisco Museum of Art giving the title of the piece (Post Hydrogen Bomb 11), the date (1950), etc. This painting is signed l.r. In very good condition. 16" by 22" painting alone, 24" by 30" in its original frame...

The talented artist remains anonymous but was obviously talented and probably listed. Note the mantel clock at left and elegant European-style table and chair. A vintage watercolor by an unknown amateur artist, titled at bottom "Santa Barbara Mission", unframed, measuring 14 1/2" by 11 3/4". The work on old paper would appear to date to maybe the 1930's or early 1940's at latest---think the "Route 66" era of travel in the American West (though this site is not on or near Route 66). It was likely created by or for a tourist. Note the Native Americans at center in the reflecting pool or fountain...

An original watercolor drawing of a familiar California theme: surfers at the beach, with lifeguard tower, palms, and two parked classic late 1940's Woodies vehicles. The work is signed at lower left "Dry......" ("Drysbock", or similar?) and measures 4 1/2" by 6 1/2". It comes matted but with no frame and glass. Likely is a contemporary work. Looks like a print but guaranteed to be original work.

Lovely impressionist oil painting of trees bordering a small river or lake, painted on canvas, 22" by 18" (26" by 21 1/2" framed), signed at lower right "Michael Kawasaki", and signed again on the reverse and dated there 1997. I have not located information on the obviously talented and trained artist. The work's impressionistic brushstrokes, the handling of light and color, is just fabulous, reminiscent of the French impressionists of the late 19th century...

He was the father of the French writer, Miguel Zamacoïs, brother of the writer Niceto de Zamacois, the singer Elisa Zamacois and the actor Ricardo Zamacois, and also an uncle of the writer Eduardo Zamacois and the music composer Joaquín Zamacois...

"Ile du levant" Oil on canvas, 15” x 22” Jean Vollet was born at Montayral, France on June 29, 1935. After studying art at the Ecole d'Arts Graphiques in Bordeaux, he went to Paris in 1962. There he devoted his time entirely to painting and began to display his work in 1964 at the Salon des Independants. He has since been met with tremendous success exhibiting in Paris, New York, Tokyo, Beverly Hills, Cannes...etc...
