A fine portrait miniature attributed to John Downman, although Charles Hayter is a secondary possibility. Simply attired in a white gown, and with powdered hair, the sitter is shown with a pensive and somewhat downcast expression. Presented in a gold frame, the glazed reverse having a plaited hair border and a hairwork wheat-sheaf with seed pearls on opalescent glass...

A Long solid bronze folded sculpture with a green painated and Some broze naive standing in the cylindrical Granite stone base, it's a very long and heavy sculpture by Moon Sup Shim, the ex-owner bought the sculpture directly at the Jin Gallery, Seoul, 1990s. It's in very fine condition without any damages at all. Measurents: 25.5" (65cm) overall. and 55cm x 5cm x 2.5cm bronze only.

The work is unsigned but most certainly would have been painted by a listed artist, I would think around the year 1910. The piece is unframed and measures 21 1/2" by 18"...

Small (8 1/2" by 7" framed) painting of a Russian Orthodox cathedral, dated 1998, ink writing in Russian at bottom. The colorful swirling domes resemble those on Saint Basil's in Moscow, but this is not an urban scene. Condition is excellent.

Renouard lived & maintained a studio on the Lower East Side of New York...

This is a double-sided drawing of figures by the very well listed American artist RICO (FEDERICO) LEBRUN (1900-1964), measuring 9 1/2" by 7 1/2" (10 3/4" by 8 3/4" in temporary protective framing). The front side shows a figure of a warrior, drawn rapidly in ink; at the bottom in pencil is "to Kate/from Rico--1948". On the reverse are two figures drawn rapidly with pencil, and no writing. On a recent label affixed to the backing is written the phrase "GIFT TO KATHERINE STEEL FROM RICO LEBRUN"...

By the well regarded Belgian artist JACQUES HOTE (1939-1986), this is a highly worked, detailed ink drawing on Japan tissue-type paper, measuring 8 1/2" by 11 1/4" (13 1/2" by 15 1/2" simply framed, no glass). The work is signed at lower right and dated there March 22,1969. The figures, caricatures, really, are quite strange, many with exaggerated Gallic noses; the subject/message of the drawing is not clear to me, but it likely lies in the realm of politics and satire and social commentary...

Unusually fresh and well preserved watercolor on paper painting of a pond in a wooded area, spring wildflowers in the foreground, 13 3/4" by 19 1/2" inside the mat, 23 1/2" by 29" as framed, signed at lower right and dated there 1908 by the noted New England artist and teacher HENRY WEBSTER RICE (1853-1934). Rice was born in Maine, the son of a carriage maker. A pupil of Ross Sterling Turner, he went on to become a much beloved watercolorist and instructor...

A 1691 copy by Johann Carl Loth now hangs in its place. This truly antique survivor shows its advanced age...
