Not complete. A very rare document on Chinese porcelain in French, published by A. Morel in 1881, first edition. Reference book with 227 pages and 30 heliogravures and chromolithographs and more than 120 illustrations in the text. Large quarto pages loose in portfolio, pages uncut. Condition: not complete, the Nos. XXXI and XXXII of the heliogravures and chromolithographs are missing, so are the text pages 113 to 120. Some foxing on pages. Dimension: c. 38 cm x 29 cm.

A complete two volume set published by Harper and Brothers, New York in 1894. The gilt top pages are uncut and there is a frontispiece with each volume. The dark blue cloth boards show some wear especially at the corners.

A rare first edition of Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens) book "A Tramp Abroad", as found in apparently scarce original leather covers rather than the more commonly seen cloth. Possibly an unstated first edition written by Donald G. Mitchell. The book has green cloth boards with gilt lettering and gilt top. Published in 1897 by Charles Scribner. The cover shows light wear, an owner's name in pencil is on the free paper and the book is slightly cocked. Pages 235 on have some type of very faint stain at the corners. 7¾" - 9¾" 294pp.

Washington Irving. "Revised Edition Complete in One Volume." Published in 1887 by G.P. Putnam's Sons New York. The front features a gilt design on the black leather boards. This is a nice tight edition and smaller book that measures 4.25" x 6.50".

Aubrey Beardsley The Yellow Book with 3 volumes available (priced each). This is a group of three of the famous English illustrated quarterly called The Yellow Book. This late 19th century series featured art, essays, discussions, poetry and criticism. They were 8-1/4 x 7" hardbacks in yellow and featured artistic cover illustrations as well as inserted plates, including illustrations by Aubrey Beardsley and others...

A first edition, second issue which includes the story Brown of Calaveras. Published in 1870 by Fields Osgood & Co. Boston. Issues: gilt lettering has faded on the boards which now appear light brown; the boards also show wear and staining, predominately on the back where the ends are worn, stained and chipped; the book is slightly cocked, there are gilt initials imprinted on brown front free endpaper, and there is light foxing. An unusual item for the philatelist collector of the famous Great Britain "Penny Rose" stamp of Victorian England: 240 stamps, arranged in a rectangle 20 by 12, all used (canceled) examples, dating to 1864,at the earliest, as these are all perforated and bear the positional plating letters in each corner. I am not a devoted stamp collector so am doing my best after some internet research. The "Penny Rose" or Penny Red succeeded the Penny Black of 1841...

It features the bust of James Russell Lowell a famous American romantic poet. The design was created by Charles Calverley and the casting was done by John Williams, of New York City. Cleverley's plaque of Russell Lowell issued by Grolier Club popular in many American Museum collections. Verdigris spot on forehead.

Antique German bronze medal that was minted in 1897 to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the Walloon and Dutch community in Hanau. The medal was made by the Mayer and Wilhelm workshop in Stuttgart and features a bust portrait of Philipp Ludwig II Graf von Hanau-Münzenberg (1596-1612) in relief, as well as a view of the Walloon church on the obverse.

Offered are US Civil War era, Confederate, fractional paper currency notes issued February 1, 1863, in the denominations of 15 cents and 25 cents.

The currency notes are marked "The Bank of the STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA" which closed in 1869, thus, ending the production of this currency. Featured in the center of each note is the State Tree of South Carolina, the Palmetto tree, adding to the notes' visual appeal.

Grade Very Fine - my interpretation

The white on the obverse is a piece of lint.

Morgan Dollar 1883 New Orleans (O) NGC Graded AU55.

This coin came from the famous Lincoln Fitzgerald collection which consisted of a cache of over 100,000 silver dollars, 10,000 of which were properly graded by NGC.

90 percent silver Constitutional money.

1849 Braided Hair Large Cent with brown/red tone. The coin is dirty and appears brown but brighter color is seen outside dirty areas.

Grade Very Fine by dealer. Held in white cardboard holder with cellophane window.

A late 19th century souvenir: miniature bone binoculars depicting Catskill Mountain House, another hotel building, waterfalls and more (can be seen, but not photographed). These truly minimal magnifying lenses were invented in the 18th century by Lord Stanhope. Measures: "1/2 x 1/3 / 12 x 9 mm. Condition: some general wear consisting with time, but both lenses are working.
