Living in the mountainous regions of central Afghanistan, the women make these embroideries throughout the cold and harsh winters. This textile measures 25 x 27 cm and is in excellent condition. The embroidery technique is cross stitch in silk thread on an apricot cotton linen background. Estimated age: mid to late 20th century.

Chogappo made of fragments of white choma (ramie) whose weft and warp are hand-plied. Natural color fragments are mixture of choma and silk. "Pojagi" is the general name for the wrapping cloth and "chogappo" is one kind of pojagi which is patchworked with asa (mainly choma, ramie) fragments.(reference source: "Korean Embroidery and Wrapping Cloths from the Choson Dynasty" published by Japan Art & Culture Association in 1995). Gendarme Vintage Solo French Club Chair. Huge, comfortable French Club chair solo. The Gendarme back chairs get their name from the Shape of Napoleon and the French Gendarmes(Policemans hat) from the mid 19th century. 4 pieces of Nara Uchiwa whose history dates back to Nara period (A.D.710~794). It began as manual side line work of the Shinto priest of Kasuga Taisha Shrine in Nara. The traditional motifs (Tenpyo Moyo) such as peonix, deer, kylin (imaginary animal), dragon, Parrot etc. These four (originally five) were made by Ikeda Gankodo which is only existing maker of it in Nara. Consolidated Glass Company produced the Catalonian line in 1927. It was made to look like glass found in Catalonia Spain at the archaeological sites, and had bubbles and raised rings blown into the glass. This is the cup & saucer set in the rainbow treatment. The color is ruby flash applied over crystal glass. What makes this plate interesting is that the color is applied only to the outer edge of the plate, leaving the center crystal. This treatment was called 'rainbow' and is difficult to find...

Sung Dynasty Molded Grey Celadon Glazed jar with handles, large jar for the type at w 4.5" by 3.5" tall with a band of floral vines above the shoulder and a lotus around the foot. There is a old chip to the rim edge as seen in the images.

Fostoria made the etching Versailles from 1928-44. This azure blue handled tort is 11.5" across and in excellent condition. The center handle is in the shape of a "fleur de les".
