Ifugao tribal wooden spoon from the Cordillera region of Luzon in the Philippines. Obtained in the 1980's. Eight (8) inches in length.

Chinese Lacquer Papier Mache Dish, 3/4" diameter, made during 18th to 19th century. Large Chinese Character in gold in the center on a very rich dark red lacquer background. There are some red lacquer loses around the rim.

Chinese Famille Rose Porcelain shaped covered container or Box for cosmetic articles, early 1900's, 2 3/8" wide x 1 5/8" wide, 3/4" high, with pink floral design on top, some rough spots around the rim, not damages.

Condition is relatively quite good with only a small abrasion to the lacquer on foot rim of the bowl. The lacquer otherwise is in good condition with no distress or wear of note...

Some lacquer losses are all around, eggshell decorated dragon is looking upward towards Mt. Fuji. The condition is fair, shows some lacquer losses.

"Daiou" could be symbolic of any type of "greatness," but was most likely a reference to the country during the Japanese Imperial era. Sweet molds, “kashigata,” have been a part of confectionary culture around the world. Well-known examples in Asia come from Japan, China, Korea, and Indonesia...

Chinese Export Rose Medallion Porcelain Pepper or Salt Shaker, 2 5/8" diameter, 1 1/8" high, made late 1880's, "Long Life" Chinese Character written in three(3) areas inside the circle, enclosed by typical Rose Medallion pattern with overglaze Famille Rose colors of the roses and butterflies in gold highlight. Marked "China" in red on the bottom and large hole for cork stopper.
