Japanese vintage 'Maneki-neko' (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maneki-neko) made of bamboo as unusually, 1960s, approx. H 23cm x 12 x 12 (9.05 x 4.72 x 4.72in)...
This prewar satsuma reclining cat is 9 inches long, 5 ½ inches wide and 4 inches tall. It is in good condition. Some color has rubbed off.
Written on the inside of the original box is the artists' testimonial to this piece. Carved by famed carver Terada Keitaro (artist name : Kei'in) when he was 71 and his retirement piece. Carved in Showa 29 (1954) he went into Ryozen-zan mountain in Shiga Prefecture and found the perfect wild mulberry wood for his final masterpiece. He states he put his whole spirit and soul into this piece. Signed and in excellent condition. Ask for shipping quote.
Rare Meiji metal Okimono of a Monkey Samurai or Sage unsigned , great sculpt nice detail in the fur . There are a few splits to the base and this figure has been clear coated long ago but its bubbling off and could be totally removed with little effort. We are not cleaning him and leaving that to the new owner. Size 13.5" by 7"
55" tall by 30" in diameter. Dated Showa 25 ( 1950) . From Muneatsuji Temple in Gifu Prefecture. This Temple is connected to the Rinzai temple of Myoshinji in Kyoto. (Full translation of what is written on the bell is available). Made by Fujiwara Sadaatsu. Inscription says it was made for world peace.

Mint and elegant tea bowl by one of the greatest potters, Rokubei Kiyomizu VI.
This Kyoto-yaki item was made 70 years ago. It has a tasteful painting of pine on it. On the bottom you find Kiyomizu's seal. The tea bowl will be delivered with its original signed wood box.

The symbol of the kelp wrapper is used for all celebratory occasions. This is the traditional wrapping (now string or ribbon) for offering and gift envelopes.

1) Stoneware incense box or kogo in the shape of an onna daruma (female daruma). She sits in the typical way, all rolled up in her garment, indicating that arms and legs may have fallen off. Her face shows striking similarity to Okame. Cream colored and reddish brown glaze over whitish soft clay, the face left partially free, fine crackle in the glaze. Japan, Meiji period...
This is Japanese Indigo dye Stripe and weave beautiful hitoe kimono textile from the Taisho era to the Showa era(1910-1950). The material is silk and cotton. It does not have a stain and damage. It is in a very good state.

Japanese multi metal engraved plaque depicting two piebald puppies investigating a rhinoceros beetle among tufts of grass and bamboo. Superb quality work, great sense of volume to their chubby bodies, wonderful puzzled faces, crisp carving, gilding and differently colored patinas, in perfect condition.
