I collected this in Chiang Mai around 15 years ago and would date it around 50 to 90 years old. Nowadays you just can’t find this sort of textile anymore. Measuring 10" x 15 1/4", this textile was made by Hmong women living in Laos. Machine embroidery, reverse applique combined with some tightlyworked hand embroidery for accents. Group of three vintage household woven cane baskets acquired in Kandy, Sri Lanka in the 1990s. These were old at the time of acquisition so I would date them to around 50 years of age. Very sturdy and good condition. Dimensions: 1# 19in/48cm x 15/40cm, 2# 15in/38cm x 8in/20cm, 11in/28cm x 5.5in/14cm. Two have wood bases and tops while the the midsize one is covered in skin (I am guessing goat).

This blouse is from Thailand and made for use by a Karen Hilltribe woman. First the fabric was hand woven from cotton fibers. Next the surface was lower half was elaborately decorated with cotton thread embroidery and tiny sea urchin shells using a geometric pattern. Then it was whip stitched into the form of a blouse using white cotton thread. This garment makes a wonderful display piece and can also be worn for special occassions. 23 inches across and 27 inches long.

A large lidded basket, 21" high and 15" diameter, circa mid to late 20th century, likely of Indonesian origin. The handwork is impressive as is the design. Condition is good, there seems to be a slight asymmetry at bottom, with a little "lean" there, and "$20" was written on bottom at some point in time. Compare to images of baskets from Indonesia. I speculated that this could be African or possibly Central American but consensus seems to point to Indonesia...

A carved bone figure of a man, 7 1/4" in height, heavy for its size, appearing at first to be possibly of Northwest/Canadian/Arctic origin, but research shows that this piece is actually from the scenic popular Indonesia island of Lombok just to the east of Bali. Note the craftsmanship of this hand-made piece. There is the tuft of hair at top, and all arms and legs are movable. A number is written on inside of one thigh. Age is unknown but the piece certainly is vintage and perhaps older.

Wonderfully carved wooden Lanna Tiger, the hole in the mouth means this could be worn as amulet or placed on an altar. On the bottom is a lightly incised spiral glyph underneath the base indicate this was meant to be protect the owner. Quirky Burmese reverse glass painting incorporating colored foil of Popa Medaw, (Google Popa Medaw as there is quite a good write up on her myth), 22cm x 32 cm. Acquired in Chiang Mai over 20 years ago, it was around 30 years old at the time. Nats are spiritual beings that predate Buddhism in Myanmar but they manage to coexist without conflict.

Thai Buddhist Ayutthaya 13-16thc Copper bronze Buddha head. Nice early piece with a red copper metal surface and good green patina. Mounted to a tiny wood base mounted c 1950s. Size over all 3.5" head 2.5" w almost 1.5" wood base is 1.2" square .
