Regal free-flowing bamboo and rattan basket from one of the masters of bamaboo basket making, Sakaguchi Sounsai b. 1899-1967. Studied under Tanabe Chikuunsai I and was active in the Osaka and Kyoto region. Featured on page 90 of 'Masters of Bamboo by Melissa Rinne. An antique Japanese Ko Tansu known as a personal storage chest made of Kiri (Paulownia) wood. Traditional wiped lacquer finish and original bronze fittings complement this piece. It features a hinged door that houses a compartment with a removable shelf.

A perfect Persian turquoise Chinese Peking Glass wine cup. it is molded glass, cut/grinded with a short carved foot. Chinese glass was largely used to imitate more precious materials such as white jade, lapis lazuli and other valuable minerals.
