DESCRIPTION: A beautifully painted, very large Mexican charger (or platter) with a dark blue outer rim framing two birds perched in a tree, surrounded by scrolling green foliage, large flowers and yellow fruit. Dating from the 1960's, on the reverse is written "Mexico"; the back is pierced with holes for hanging. Excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. DIMENSIONS: A large 18" diameter (45.8 cm).

Signed "Tangyu Asada" (1899-1984) with chop and calligraphy. Tangyu's birth name was Benji Asada, born in Kyoto, he was active in Sosaku Hanga artist circles in the area.

Saye qosha is an Uzbek textile used to decorate piles of quilts when they are stored during the day. Two rectangles of cotton solidly embroidered in cross stitch with multi-colored hooked motifs, sewn together to make a V-shape. Fringes along the bottom in alternating green, bergundy, yellow, red, purple, and white. In their colors and repetition, these motifs are typical of the embroideries of Tajikistan and Sukhanderia in southern Uzbekistan...

The embroidery of Baluchistan is called "doch" and is unique in its intricate repetitive geometric patterns and colors. This woman's dress yoke from Baluchistan ("pashk kurta") features a repertoire of densely embroidered patterns in silk thread on a dark blue silk background. Yajima Boshu (1925-2001) was born in Takaoka, one of the most important bronze producing regions in Japan...

A fisherman's work wear hand-woven of hemp for both wefts and warps. Both natural color and indigo stripes are hemp yarn, which are hand plied. It is from Tsushima in Nagasaki prefecture, an island located between Korean Peninsula and north Kyushu, and the textile is called Tsushima-asa. Beautiful Chinese carnelian bangle, carved of deep reddish orange carnelian of lovely translucency. Size: 3" wide diameter / 2 1/4" wide inside.

Inspired the works of Iizuka Rokansai, this open weave basket with richly toned dark red-brown split bamboo has a slightly tapering cylindrical body with an offset loop handle at the top. Signed with an incised signature on the bottom. Comes with a bamboo water container. Dates late 20th century. Measures 8” high including handle, 4.74” diameter. This basket had a very nice sheen to it that is not being captured by the photos. You will be pleased.

Rare old Shui ethnic minority baby carrier is from Gui Zhou province China. The upper section is elaborately embroidered using mostly satin stitch technique. The lower section is embroidered with horsehair wrapped thread design. Although this carrier shows extensive use, and shows a bit of dirt, it retains its beauty. Measures approx 20" x 36"

Korean porcelain celadon vase with black lacquer and MOP overlay. The condition of the porcelain is perfect, but the lacquer is not, some small pieces of mother of pearl are missing and some touch up paint around a section of the shoulder is evident. Still a very desirable vase that will display well. Measurements are 7 inches tall by 3 1/4 inches at the widest.
