Unusual Japanese WWII metal obidome (sash ornament) with low relief chrysanthemum flower and stylized character on the front, and 2 characters and year 1942 on the back. Beautiful metal work, nicely made back of the piece. This is a very attractive Vintage Japanese cloisonne vase designed with a contemporary style or deco look. We have never seen another like it. The vase is rather large and is signed Sato. It stands 7 1/2 tall and is 8 1/2 inches wide. It is in excellent condition with only a little pitting on the bottom rim. This is probably the finest cloisonne example we have seen produced from this company.

Rare semi antique supplementary warp silk embroidery on handspun indigo cotton, blanket from the diverse Tai ethnic group Vietnam/Laos. I collected this in Chiang Mai around 15 years ago and would date it around 50 to 90 years old. Nowadays you just can’t find this sort of textile anymore. This is an attractive vintage Japanese Cloisonne vase. It is much like another piece we currently have listed but of higher quality. It may be from Ando. The wireless enamel work on the mountain and clouds is very good. Except in the foreground, the enamel colors are soft pastel tones of gray/blue. It just under 7 inches tall and 5 inches wide. There is a minor dent to bottom rim that can not be seen when on display. otherwise the condition is outstanding.

These two well carved and polished netsuke are early or mid - 20th century products. The tall one is a bare footed older man holding a long staff. It is 3 ¾” high, 1 ¼” wide and three quarters of an inch thick. The artist’s signature, “Hajime,” is carved on the bottom.
