Handsome Silver Plate Sheffield England Double Inkwell. The silver stand with centered finial and ball feet is comprised of two silver rimmed crystal inkwells and a covered center compartment. The edging is a beaded design and the front has a curve to hold a pen. Marked IFS LTD, Makers Mark, Made in England. The silver & crystal are all in excellent condition. This set of 5 porcelain serving bowls is packed in their original paper box. They are a mid-20th century product. The bowls are 2 ¼” high and 4 ½” in diameter. They have blue, green and orange floral and pattern designs inside and outside. There is a maker’s mark “Oyoshi kiln” on the bottoms. They were never used and are in excellent condition.

An interesting Japanese cloisonne hexagonal vase decorated with motifs of chrysanthemums. The cloisonne is done in a technique aka-sukashi, ginbari, where the metal base contains a pattern which is showing through the red cloisonne glaze. Above the metal base is the cloisonne work of chrysanthemum flowers with a bird flying in the distance. On the rim of the foot, two marks can be seen...

A light Celadon jade pendant depicting the Guanyin (Avalokiteśvara) standing on the sea waves. Mid-20th century. Condition: light brown inclusions; very tiny flakes on the edge; and two short (1/4" to 3/8") cracks on the top edge. Please see photos for details. Length: 4".

A set of Japanese tsuge (boxwood) combs in delicate hand-cut design, ca 1950, never been used. The combs made out of tsuge wood has been known to be gentle on the hair and scalp without causing static. They were treasured by the women and men for many, many centuries. For maintenance of the combs, camellia (tsubaki) oil has been used (but good vegetable oil should work as well?). The color of tsuge deepens as they were used from natural oil from our hair and the camellia oil...

An enamel on copper cup or beaker and a small dish. Both are Italian modernist pieces (1950’s), both enameled in tomato red with black speckles (the back of the dish in gilt and white). Both pieces marked Made in Italy: the cup with a small metal sign in the way of Paolo de Poli,the dish with impressed mark. Height of cup "2/ 5 cm, diameter of dish "3½/ 8,7 cm. Condition: fine.

The chrysanthemum flower is also the symbol of Japan and of longevity and rejuvenation...

Fostoria Meadow Rose 11" Bowl is in mint condition. It is about 3.5" deep, has handles in the Baroque style. Produced in the 1940's.

A nicely enameled Japanese cloisonne box with a raised design (moriage) of Mandarin ducks. This box dates from the 1960s to the 1980s and was probably made by the Inaba Company of Kyoto, Japan. The mark at the bottom is not the maker’s mark; it is probably the mark of the retail or outlet store. The dimensions are 5 1/2 inches x 4 inches x 1 1/2 (a bit shorter) inches.
