This attractive hand-embroidered purse from Bamiyan province measures 10.5 x 21 cm when opened, 8 x 10.5 cm when closed. It is embroidered in brick stitch in silk thread of various colors. The motifs are meticulously worked diamond motifs surrounding hooked diamonds, quite typical of traditional Hazara embroidery. The Hazara are the third largest ethnic group in Afghanistan. Three(3) Japanese Hina Dolls, Meiji period, 9 1/4" to 6 1/4" high, 4 3/4" to 5 1/2" wide, 3" deep, with humorous face expressions were very well executed, carved out of the wood and lacquered, all have glass eyes. Each guys wearing silk garment and hat. Three(3) pieces of accessories came with doll set and the condition is good except silk garments are stained slightly with age and one(1) hat has loose rope.

This is a really nice pair of Grape footed milk glass salt and pepper shakers made by Imperial Glass. The one shaker has the original Imperial Glass label attached. A child's helmet (khohl) from Pakistan which is daily attire for both girls and boys of the villages in Kohistan. It measures 34 cm from the beaded tassel on the peaked crown to the forehead hem, and 102.5 cm from the tassle to the V-shaped bottom hem. The diameter of the cap is 27.5 cm. Satin stitch and petit point (half cross stitch) in silk thread on a black cotton ground, the helmet is embellished all over with white and red glass beads and buttons. Fenton Blue Overlay 7" Bowl, about 3" high, was made in the 1940's. This bowl is in mint condition.

Japanese silk fukusa with yuzen technique and sumi-e hand painting. The shimmering effect of the water was achieved by the delicate use of silver surihaku. Red embroidery on the crane’s head and some white embroidery on tail feathers highlight those features. On the reverse is red rinzu silk with a large peony motif. All four original tassels are still intact. There is a break in the boarder thread in the upper left corner (see last photo) but could be repaired...

This great vintage wall hanging can be hung anywhere. It reads "Shalom" in its colorful, stained glass, abstract design. It has 5 hooks to hold keys, caps, etc. It looks beautiful just hanging from anything. It measures 8" x 2" x 3/8" and hangs 6 1/2" from its chain. It is bronze and made in Israel in the early to late 1960s to early 70's by The Terra Sancta Guild. In English, "Shalom" means "hello, welcome, good-bye, peace," etc. It weighs about 5 ounces and is in excellent condition.
