Attractive mirror with a lovely green patina, decorated with a band of characters.

The small size of the figures (23-29 cm) makes this an interesting and rare group. The moulded figures still have much of their painting intact. The come in different sizes with different faces. Originally they carried wooden attributes or weapons.
Condition: normal age wear, a few repairs (one arm and some toes, see pictures), overal in very good condition. Every figure comes with an acrylic stand

The group comes with a TL report from Kotalla which confirms the dating of these figures (3 figures randomly tested).
Provenance: Private collection The Hague, The Netherlands. Collected in the early 90’s.

A very rare pair of wooden tomb figures with original painting. China, Han Dynasty (206 BC-221 AD). Condition: one head broken, appropriate age wear. H. 27 and 25 cm excluding the stands.
Green glazed pottery wirh wonderful iridescence. The roof can be removed and the pig can be taken out of the sty. Similar pieces can be found in the book 'The Spirit of Han'. Flower shaped mirror, decorated with birds and animal between floral patterns. China, Tang Dynasty (618-906). Diameter 9,5 cm Excellent condition.
A rare and complete group of an ox and carriage in grey pottery with remains of polychrome. China, Tang Dynasty (618-907). The result of the thermoluminescence test by Kotalla is consistent with the dating of this lot.
The report is included in the sale. Dimensions: the carriage H. 32 cm, L. 23 cm, the ox H. 18 cm, L. 23 cm. Condition: very good, no visible repairs, although repairs on early pottery are quite common and accepted.

Rare type of Han amphora, made of red pottery de orated with bronze appliques. H. 19,5 cm. Very good condition, no traces of repairs. Han Dynasty (206BC-220AD).
A magnificent and rare figure of a fat lady made of painted terracotta.
Fat ladies are among the most famous objects of the Tang Dynasty (618-906) and they are a wellknown symbol of wealth.H. 31 cm.
Condition: no traces of repairs are visible, most of the original colour is still present.
Made of red pottery, covered with a white layer of slib, then painted. Tang Dynasty (618-907). Height 34,5 cm. Condition: expected age wear, overall in good condition. A thermoluminescence-test from Kotalla confirms the dating of this figure and is included in the sale.
High ranking court lady with exquisite hairdo. White pottery with remains of red and black pigments. H. 30 cm. Good condition. Tang Dynasty (618-907).

Ancient bronze food container dating from the Han Dynasty (206BC-220AD). With a domed cover with loop handles. When inverted the cover becomes a tripod dish.
H. 15 cm, Diameter 21,5 cm.
Condition: Good condition with excellent verdegris and lapis patina.

Military horse and soldier,the soldier wearing a helmet and the horse wearing a kind of harness. Lovely piece in the typical style of the Northern Qi Dynasty (550-577). Height 34,5 cm. Good condition. Comes with a thermoluminescence test from Ralf Kotalla.
