Heavy silver (.980) with turquoise oval cabochon in center, the scrolling designs with beads and cut out areas in precolumbian motifs, utlized during the revival of silver work in Taxco Mexico in the early 20th century, no artist stamp. Very nice size, measuring 2 5/8 wide and 2 1/8" high, good weight. Stamped 980 on back, with Made in Mexico, no maker's mark. Likely Taxco work, and the 980 silver standard was used in earlier works, prior to 1950. The face mask depicts a warrior with headdress, ear spools, and facial adornment, a pre-columbian image often found in Mexican art and jewelry. Has visible tarnish, especially in recessed areas, and shows wear and abrasions to silver surface...

This rare Herend tea service is for twelve, an unusually large service, with a teapot that is also a large size (12 inches from spout to handle, and 7" high). The pattern is Petit Bouquet de Rose, and is decorated in all green, which is rare, as the roses generally are pink or yellow. The mark is that used between 1939 and 1948, and most of the pieces also are impressed with the Herend stamp and a number identifying the particular piece...

Collected in 1944, this dance rattle (known as a vivang), comprised of nut pods (pangium edule), woven fiber and twine, is used in traditional dance ceremonies in the Malakula Islands of Vanuatu, formerly known as New Hebrides. The collection tag is still attached to the rattle, and gives the date and location where it was acquired...

Very fine Hupa or Yurok basketry cap, in rows and bands of varied colors, tightly woven, in very good condition, early 20th century. Measures 7 3/4" x 7", the opening is roughly 6 7/8" 5 5/8". Note that the cap is slightly oblong, and the measurements are how it sits, could measure otherwise if opening stretched a bit. The basket has 11 rows of design, aside from the center area, and is comprised of colors of beige, tan, and dark brown...

Measuring 3" x 2 1/4" x 1 1/2" high, this silver box is nicely stamped with traditional navajo designs. It sits on four feet, which appear to be bead halves, and has a clasp on front that secures the lid. Unmarked, which is typical of older works, likely from the trading post era, with Fred Harvey being one of the primary venues for the sale of hand made Navajo silver and other works. Excellent condition, nice soft patina, slight rubbing to surface, the hinges and clasp function well...

Wonderful old Mexican silver bracelet in bold design with large oval green stones, stamped "Silver Made In Mexico", the bottom part of Mexico not visible. It measures 7" long and 1 3/8" wide. Very substantial, the silver is heavy and the stones are large and raised high above the bezels. The clasp is a simple folding snap clasp that holds firmly. The design is very similar to the early works of both Spratling and Aguilar, and could have been crated by them or by a worker in their studios...

By Franz Bergman (Austria 1898-1863), this cold painted Austrian bronze depicts a parakeet or budgie, standing with head slightly turned. The budgie has a green and yellow body and blue tail, with wing feathers in black and white. It measures 7 1/4" long and is just under 3" high. A very unique piece of tramp art, this box has a fabulous painted design over the entire surface. The paint is marbled, is dripped, splashed and flowing over the whole surface, with good color and contrast. A modernist visionary created this gem. Of large size, and unusual form, this tramp art box contains two drawers and has a lift top revealing a section slightly deeper than the drawers. The top section is 1 1/2" deep, and the drawers are 1 1/4" deep. The lift top section has a mirror built into the top. The box measures 14" x 10 1/4" and is roughly 12 1/2" high to top of finial. Heavily decorated with layers of carved wood, some painted, some varnished, making a nice contrast...

Of high content silver (.950 or higher), this warmer or burner is Korean, early 20th century, possibly 19th. Measures 5 3/4" x 6 1/4". Three pieces, burner, lid, and tray. Signed in rectangular cartouche on base, has marks for silver. Four bat shaped handles, two on lid, two on base. Lid and base are engraved with prunus blossoms, and the background around the engraving is slightly textured to create a more satiny surface...

Chinese wedding lamp of articulated porcelain, in two sections, hexagonal in shape with flared and tiered top. Measures 9 3/4" high, and roughly 4 1/2" wide. Each pierced panel has a round section with a scene depicting people in various activities, some with two figures. Measuring 32" x 1", this belt is comprised of a heavy stepped buckle, 8 square panels featuring peacocks, lions and other animals, 8 rectangular panels of foliate designs, 5 round panels with peacocks, and 12 bar panels with a flower, all over 13 woven strands of silver. The buckle is set with a blue stone, and is fastened with two bars, both attached with three chains...

Accompanied by a letter describing the pipe and its presentation to the letter's recipient, this pipe depicts General Joseph Joffre, a famous French military man who served from 1869-1916, and was the Commander in Chief of the French Forces on the Western Front in WWI. Very expertly carved, the pipe is a figured hard wood, with a curved horn mouth piece. It does not appear to have ever been used, as the bowl is perfectly clean. The letter is dated October 27, 1918...

Northwest Coast First Nation wood carving of a totemic image, including a wolf, seal, and shamanic figure, all painted in traditional deep colors of the tribes from this area. Carved from one piece of wood, the round bottom attached with a nail. Measures 9 3/4' high, 1 1/4" wide, and 2" deep at the top, the base is 2 1/4" in diameter. By the workshop of the renowned maker Ryubundo (signed Kinryu-do on the bronze lid), this iron tetsubin measures roughly 8 1/4" from tip of spout to other side, and the handle reaches just about 8 1/2" high. The exterior is decorated with a dragon that reaches around the entire pot, in and out of waves and cloudlike forms, the entire surface decorated with these traditional motifs and rock like textures.
