In red velvet lined rosewood case, this brass microscope is in the style of Benjamin Martin, and dates to the mid nineteenth century. Most of the original pieces are included, and the microscope is in working condition. There is an old solder repair along the side of the rack and pinion, which is visible in the photos. Large size (11 3/4"), this bronze vase has applied sterling silver irises. The finish is bronze with verde sections visible, a mottled or variegated finish often utilized on Heintz Art Metal products. This piece is unsigned, and is early, prior to the patent pending and patent dates for this design, which is #3657. Bronze box with patinated surface and some cold painting, stamped Made in Austria on bottom. Measures 6 1/8" wide, 3 1/2" deep, and 2 1/8" high. Lined with wood. The sides are all hammered, and the top has a raised design depicting a camel at rest, and two figures praying. Measuring 11 3/4" high and 4" across base, this Okimono of a Bijin holds a scroll, which has unfurled to her feet, where a cat plays with it. In rich colors and heavy enamel, the figure is both serene and elegant. Nice detail on the robes and clothing, with gilt details on her hair ornaments and along the edge of the scroll. Measuring 7 1/4" wide, 4 1'2" high, and 5" deep, this bronze inkwell features the head of a lion or other big cat, and has applied glass eyes. By the London silversmith, John Keith, this ornate cream jug was made in 1853. The hallmarks are all clear, and include the silver standard, Queen Victoria, the date mark and mark of Keith. It measures 5 1/4" high and is 4 1/4" wide from tip of lip to handle. Lovely rococo repousse designs, with the base standing on four feet in the shape of hooves. There is a small bird engraved on the front, not clear in photos, and also worn. Condition is good, with some tarnish visible, and slight dents...
