Japanese zenibako (money safe box) made with Keyaki (zelkova) burl wood in original red lacquer finish. The zenibako is fitted with brass hardware including side handles in a mokko (melon) motif. The hinged lid has a large front lock plate with matching key, and a calligraphy inscription on the underside. The interior of the zenibako holds two open compartments.

Japanese framed print by sosaku-hanga artist Haku Maki (1924-2000) titled "Collection 37". Depiction of a black vase with cracked lip and gilt leaves. Signed in pencil with red artist's cartouche, dated 1980, number 144/230.

Japanese isho tansu, or clothing chest of drawers, constructed with Persimmon wood front drawers and a Sugi (cedar) frame and interior. The tansu holds four long drawers with metal pulls and round keyholes with floral plating. The sides of the piece are built with handles to carry and transport the tansu. Original condition with kanji inscription on backside of chest.

Taisho period (1912-1925)

Japanese small amber carving of a frog resting on a leaf. The golden yellow amber has natural inclusions.

A terracotta figure of the Three Wise Monkeys - Mizaru who is covering his eyes, Kikazaru who is covering his ears and Iwazaru who is covering his mouth. All three embody the proverb "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil". The figure is combed terracotta with blue, black and brown paint. Antique hand-woven basket, originating from the Jarai culture in Vietnam. Secured with wood frame, with rope shoulder strap for carrying. Baskets of this kind were primarily used for collecting and storing rice. The lid is woven with concentric circle design.

A pair of silvered copper (copper and nickel) Persian vases. the vases have a flared rim with long neck, round middle and collet foot. The surfaces is embellished with floral design of fine, and impressive scrolling.

A faience (blue green glazed) clay Ankh is an ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic symbol that was most commonly used in writing and in art to represent the word for "life" and, by extension, as a symbol of life itself. An antique small tansu of kiri wood from the Taisho period. Sliding doors behind which books and small objects were stored. Lower drawers were used to store documents, photos, ephemera, receipts, etc.

Original bronze hardware. The sliding door handles feature a quarter moon casting light on a garden of flowers and the lock plates have a Kamon *family crest" design of a Botan (Peony) blossom with its leaves encircling the flower.

A stunning large natural quartz crystal oxide mineral with just a touch of smoke tonalities. Lighter tones lead to almost transparent clear mineral. A blend of smaller clusters of crystals making up the base leading single large crystal fading out at a 45 degree angle.

An antique Japanese porcelain hibachi (brazier) with a hand painted blue and white sometsuke design of a landscape scene and an indoor garden design. Key fret pattern along the base with a background of Chrysanthemum blossoms and a repeating eight window floral design along the top. Unusual mushroom style pedestal shape.

An antique Japanese Ranma (transom) that was highly detailed and hand carved out of Akita Suginoki (Cryptomeria from the Akita region) with a Hinoki (Cypress) frame. It features a landscaped Shinto shrine grounds complete with the shrine complex, pine trees, clouds, a Torii gate, a Pagoda, and a beautiful footbridge. The image is carved on both sides to show the front and back of the complex.
