An early 18th Century porcelain tea bowl and saucer decorated in underglaze blue with overgalze iron red and green enamels in "Verte Imari" style. This item was made in China for export to Europe early in the 18th Century, probably during the reign of the Yongzheng emperor (1723-1735).

Small beehive-form pot is covered in a rich, lustrous copper-red glaze that drains to a pale celadon tone on one side. The interior is glazed white with the glaze crackles being highlighted by ink staining from long term use. The copper has drained from the mouth leaving the often seen attractive white ring. The glaze stops at the beginning of the foot which though left unglazed has burnt a pale orange tone in the firing...
The ceramics manufacturing industry in China was collapsed at the confusion period in last MIng dynasty, however after about 50 years It was rebuilt on the Kangxi(康煕) era and they had producing more excellent pieces, and so the products with Kangxi mark has been prized for long time after then over the world.
This pieces has an auspicious grouping pattern, pine, bamboo and plum at the bottom, and Chinese characters on the outside.

The silver handle was added in 1854 by the wellknown Dutch silversmith J.M. van Kempen in Utrecht(later in Voorschoten). In the 19th century it was very fashionable in The Netherlands to add silver mounts, lids and handles to antique porcelain objects. A white porcelain "Blanc-de-Chine" Buddhist Lion incense stick holder in similar style to the larger Guardian Lions which are frequently to be found at the entrances to Buddhist temples. These were probably originally made for domestic home altars and were among the first items to be exported to Europe from China as decorative objects.
This item was made in the kilns of Dehua, Fujian Province, South China ,circa 1640-1660, during the middle of the 17th Century.

Large, Song style porcelain bowl with incised decoration. The very thinly potted body glazed with an superb, pale blue Qingbai glaze.
Kangxi Period ( 1662 - 1722 ). The bowl is marked with a very rare Kangxi Mark : Xuanhe reign title ( AD 1119 - 25 ) I recommend to do a Google-search in order to read more about this rare Mark. Diameter : 18,4 cm. H : 5,9 cm. Condition : Perfect with a very very nice "ping" tone when tapped.
