He is sitting on a lotus throne, holding his hands in Abisheka Mudra (consecration gesture). On the back side there is a dedication: donated by the Li family. Ming Dynasty, 1368–1644. H. 27.

She is depicted standing on a stylised cloud and holds ritual implements in both hands, a sword in her right hand while the left hand holds a gourd. Remains of cold gilt. China, Ming, 16th century. Deity probably Taoist in soapstone. The god is standing, brandishing the Ying and the Yang. It must refer to a specific character and a story or legend. The work is finely executed and the style of the carving is unusual, cartoonish. In addition, the artist allowed himself to cheat by abnormally moving the left ear too close to the eye so that, seen from the front, the face is balanced. This is a very fine pair of Spinach Jade Birds perching on a tree branch that is nested on a carved wood stand. The artisan has taken advantage of the jade skin to highlight certain areas, such as the lightest (celadon) color for their peaks, the darkest (spinach) for their body, and mottle portion of the stone for the birds tails. This very detailed and realistic version of the birds are in excellent preserved condition.
