Rather unusual late 19th century miniature Chinese Shoushan soapstone carving of a snarling chimera seated on a base. Superb carving, rare excellent quality butterscotch color stone, great patina. Neat hole in the base for hanging. Wonderful object for a scholar’s desk. Height 0.68 inches (17.5 mm).
Cylinder shaped (hanzutsu) tea bowl made of light, fine, unrefined Mino clay. The style of the foot lets it appear contemporary with the late Oribe bowls. But the shape of the expertly thrown body, the orange skin effect on the typical Shino glaze with beautiful orange 'fire colour' recalls the days of the single chamber kilns, but the glaze and the somewhat irregular foot is typical for the late production of the 1620's at the Motoyashiki and Kamagane kilns...
Antique Chinese porcelain brush washer, with ocean landscape scenes of boats on the water, and inscription on the backside with red chop. The foot is slightly recessed with unusual red mark. The brush washer is of a round form with flattened base and a wide mouth with a very short lip.

Qing dynasty imperial Duke's brown dragon robe fragment, 19th century, executed with counted stitch embroidery, 4 profile dragons worked with couched gold threads, surrounded by clouds, cranes, bats, and other auspicious Chinese symbols above the sea waves, rocks, and standing water / Lishui. Panel is backed with blue linen. Excellent condition.

Late Qing Dynasy (1880s to 1911) Chinese glass seal of square section and 4 raised characters on the bottom. The first photo shows the image of the bottom flipped left to right, so the seal can be read. Wonderful simple piece appropriate for a scholar’s desk, beautiful transparent glass, very pleasant finish to the surface, old dried sea paste in the grooves. Height 1.69 inches, printing surface size 0.51 x 0.51 inches.
Zushi, shrine used in Buddhist temples, containing a statue of Aizen Myoo. He sits on his typical lotus throne carried by a vase full of jewels, surrounded by a circular, red, flaming nimbus. This is Japanese antique Hikeshi Hanten (fireman coat)used in the Edo period.( 1830-1850) of natural indigo dye cotton.
It is a very nice cotton hand spun with warm hands.
It is drawn with Tsutsugaki and with natural indigo dye.
There are slight stains, but they are not noticeable. There is a slight rubbing mark.
The state can be worn well.

Antique Japanese scroll painting, with an arrangement representing a bounty of good fortune. Fish top a bushel of rice and are tied with roped straw in an auspicious presentation meant to bring in a bounty of fortune. Adding to it, three of the Lucky Gods make an appearance in miniature, treating the decoration as if it were a boat or their ship of good luck. Sumi ink on silk. Dates from 18th century.

Ming Dynasty Chinese scholar's duan inkstone. Simple and elegant in design with foot rim, the stone measures 4.25 x 5 inches. Custom rosewood box was made at a later date.Box 5.25" x 6".
Carved to fit the hand perfectly, this Japanese ivory page turner offers elegant design combined with function. The artists skill becomes even more evident when the page turner is held. In excellent condition save for one small shallow chip about 2-3 mm, see last photo, very hard to see, but can be felt if you run your finger slowly along the blade. The page turner measures 18.5" x 1.25".
A Fukagawa Koransha Arita bottle vase, the glaze a very pale pink with decoration of grey leaves and three red cherries. Orchid (Koransha) mark in underglaze blue, early 20th century. Height "7/ 18 cm. Condition: slight wear to the gilt rim of the neck.
Large and important bust of Hindu goddess Parvati, wife of god Shiva. This beautiful lost wax chiseled and cast bust made of bronze underlines perfectly the harmony of the face and the beauty of the jewelry the goddess is wearing. India, 19th/20th century. Height: 30.2 cm. Very good condition.
NOTE 1: As the title implies, ("Parvati Mukhalinga"), this bust was associated with the Linga of Shiva. The Linga is a phallic symbol, symbolising the power of Shiva.

This is a beautifully decorated Neolithic vase, standing just over 7" in height.
