Lost wax cast bronze pipe. Decoration in high relief of clouds or swirls of smoke and lotus petals. The object is massive, thick and heavy. We think it is a Khmer bronze, probably a cult object, but it may be something else altogether. What is certain is that the object is very old and that it is not a copy of the 20th century. Late Qing Dynasy (1880s 10 1911) century Chinese glass cylindrical seal. Wonderful simple piece appropriate for a scholar’s desk, beautiful transparent glass, very pleasant finish to the surface. The bottom is carved with two raised characters, old dried sea paste in the grooves. The impression of the seal is shown on Enlargement 1 (photo is flipped left to right to present the image as it will actually print on paper). Height 2 3/16 inches, diameter 5/8 inches.

Antique betel nut box from the Philippines, composed of brass and nickel, with separate hinged compartments for the storage of various implements. The leftmost compartment is built up with slaked lime, which releases the alkaloids in the betel nut. The practice of betel nut chewing is common in many parts of South Asia. Slices of the areca nut would be wrapped in betel leaves and chewed, giving a mild stimulant effect.

Small beehive-form pot is covered in a rich, lustrous copper-red glaze that drains to a pale celadon tone on one side. Rare Large Chinese Tang Dynasty Pottery Ox / Bull (AD 618 - 906)

This rare and unusual pottery model of an ox, or bull, was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). It is made from a pale pinkish-coloured pottery that is quite highly-fired, having an almost "metallic" ring to it when tapped. Tang pottery items made from a creamy or pink coloured pottery are rarer and often considered finer than the more "common" dark reddish pottery.

This is a beautiful Japanese Porcelain Charger or shallow bowl. It just glows. The work is very similar to the work we have seen done by the Fukagawa or Koransha factory but it is not signed. Condition is excellent. There is a minor factory smear of gold on the front center. It can bee seen in the images. This might why the piece is not signed. It can bee seen in the images. The charger is 12 5/8 inches across and has deep sides making it 2 1/4 inches tall.

Japanese isho tansu, or clothing chest of drawers, constructed with Persimmon wood front drawers and a Sugi (cedar) frame and interior. The tansu holds four long drawers with metal pulls and round keyholes with floral plating. The sides of the piece are built with handles to carry and transport the tansu. Original condition with kanji inscription on backside of chest.
