Antique Japanese yari saya, carved wooden cover for a yari spear. Favored by many samurai and ashigaru (foot soldiers) for the reached allowed by the long pole arm, the yari was a popular weapon for greater military use. Rare gilt bronze pendant, of circular form, with a finely embossed decoration representing a soldier beating a seated man with a whip, the whole scene surrounded by geometric design. A good and rare shape of Yuan blue and white small bowl / cup, rounded side with lipped rim and unglazed base, bowl decorated with good color of under glaze blue of continuous flower motif, center with cloud motif.
Bowl / cup is in very good condition with small glaze line at the rim no chip, no restoration.

Interesting blackstone seal with low loop handle and a carving of XXX inside linedecoration, Mesopotamian, late Ubaid period (5500-3700 BC).

Oberlánder dates this seal to the 3rd. millenium BC, we're certain that it's a much earlier and made in the later Ubaid period (5500-3700 BC).

19th century Japanese small lacquered wood netsuke representing a theatrical mask of Shishiguchi - a lion mask used in scene 2 of the play Shakkyo. Uncommon image, excellent intense face, great patina. Crisp detailing, nicely lacquered, some wear to the surface. Signed RYUUN on the back bar - the artist is listed in NETSUKE MASKS by Raymond Bushell, p. 175, signatures 241-243. Height 1.23 inches.

This very well made and hand painted vase is a 19th century product. It is 9 ½” high and 2 ¾” wide from the widest part. It depicts chrysanthemum and butterflies over a beige crackled body. There is a brocade pattern design on the top of the vase. The black hand-painted mark “Dai Nippon, Taizan Sei” is on the bottom. It is in great condition.

This is the third piece of a group of three extremely rare, perfect and superb Yuan iron splashed pieces. An extremely rare Yuan Altar vase attached to a pierced stand, decorated with splashed iron brown spots and a Qingbai ( Yingqing ) glaze over a porcelain body. Yuan Dynasty 1279 - 1368. H: 13 cm. B: 6,4 cm. Condition: Perfect.

Interesting late neolithic - early bronzeage stamp seal in attractive dark green stone, finely engraved, East Anatolia/West Mesopotamia, c. 3rd. millenium bC.

The seal finely made with a handle and sort of 'Hat-shaped' like these pre-Hittite seals often are. The engraving shows a pair of horned animals with very long curved horns and with the small triangular spearpoint-forms in the fields, typical for Anatolian seals.

19th century or earlier Japanese sword set of fuchi (bordering piece between the sword guard and the handle) and kashira (metal pommel at the end of the hilt of a sword) with gilded relief design of small birds in flight by clumps of bamboo, all on finely punched ground texture called nanako, which means “fish-eggs” as it resembles fine rows of caviar. Excellent quality work, in great condition. Kashira length 1.4 inches, fuchi length 1.52 inches.

Early 18th Century, KANGXI to YONGZHEN Period Blue and White Octagonal Porcelain Wine Cup and matching Saucer hand painted in blue under glaze with scrolls and lotus flowers. Both the cup and saucer have a pretty flower center medallion and the rims are decorated with a diaper border. Condition nice, saucer has flea bites/one filled rim chip (could be professionally perfected), otherwise no hairlines or restorations. An Unusual framed Five Plate series of woodblock prints creating a large image (called a pentaptych). Original piece by one of the most famous Ukiyo-e woodblock artists, Utagawa Kunisada / Toyokuni III (1786-1865), with depiction of a large scene of men paddling boats with geishas and courtesans across a wide body of water to a far-off island. Calligraphy seals and signatures appear consistently throughout the image. Mounted in a large glass frame.
