Elegant pair of large sterling silver salad servers in Frank Whiting’s 1893 “Tyrolean” pattern. This is one of the simpler Victorian designs and works nicely with a wide variety of other patterns. The pieces are quite heavy. The backs are marked with Whiting’s second hallmark.

A stunning hand painted porcelain bowl with a gold trimmed scalloped rim was made by the Tressemann & Vogt company in Limoges, France between 1892-1907. Superb American coin silver soup ladle, the bright-cut flared handle narrowing to a twist handle that leads to the deeply scalloped bowl. Twist handle pieces are especially desirable, particularly when combined with other outstanding decorative elements. The back is stamped with the mark for Farrington & Hunnewell, silversmiths who worked in Boston beginning in 1835.

Offered is this beautiful, iridescent art glass vase made by Loetz around 1898, in their 'Tree-trunk' decor ('Creta Rusticana'. The vase is 5 inches (12,5 cm) tall and 4 1/4 inches (10,8 cm) wide at the bottom. Except for a couple of minutest of flea-bites on the top rim, the vase is in very good condition. Though unsigned, most likely it was made by Loetz (refer to page 4 of David Littlefield's website for a Loetz 'Creta Rusticana' vase of similar shape and decor).

A fine example of a double series opaque twist (DSOT) wine glass. The lower half of the bowl is spiral molded, with the stem containing a pair of corkscrews outside on a single central corkscrew.

The condition of the glass is excellent, with no chips, cracks, hazing, or restoration. Wonderful color and tooling marks. Rough snapped pontil. The height is a goodly 7 1/4", with a bowl diameter of 2 1/4" and a foot diameter of 2 7/8".

A striking quilt in a deep red and black. Most importantly the quilt has, stitched on its reverse, "Sarah amd Anne Hoit, Burlington, VT 1838". It also has, stitched at a later time, "A Present to O. Sherman 1881". It is very uncommon to find a quilt, especially such an early one, with such complete information as to the maker, place and date. The piece is approximately 82" square, with the cutouts being 16" square.

A lovely sterling silver powder box by Gorham. The entire body and matching lid are covered in repousse decoration of swirling acanthus leaves. The sides flare out in an elegant curve that is continued in the lid which rises to point in the middle. An English Victorian sterling silver presentation trophy, London, 1872, by John and Henry Lias (probably). Size: 9 5/8 inches ht. Weight: 12.5 Troy ounces. This is a 1st Place prize for "Sailing Boats Under 24 Feet, Won By The Petrel, C.H. Simmons." And on the reverse in a cartouche - "G.A.R. 1st Prize, Sept. 5, 1872." Decorated in flat chasing in the Aesthetic Movement style. Excellent condition.

A pair of heavy Bristol wine glasses, peacock blue. Mouth blown and made around 1800 – 1810, the rim softly rounded. The pontil mark of one glass removed by grinding. Removal of the pontil mark was often done on lead “finer” glass (the lead allowed for cut designs). On the other glass the mark is deeper and so is still there, despite grinding. Webb satin finish peachblow rose bowl, 3 inches in diameter and 3 inches tall. The bowl is cased in white with the exterior shaded from dark red at the top to a yellowish red at the bottom. The bowl sits atop a stem with a shoulder merise over a cushion knop, below which is an inverted baluster section above a basal knop.
