Antique Chinese scroll, with stylized calligraphy, signed with two red chops, over a painting of fish leaping from a cluster of seaweed, signed also with two additional red chops. A very whimsical representation of the fish.
Female artist Yu"Yingzi signed both the calligraphy poem and painting, dated winter Hong Kong 1925.

Antique Chinese bronze tripod censer, with lions' heads for handles and beautiful hand-scribed calligraphy on its front over a textured ground. The four characters on the bronze read "to keep and appreciate forever". The signature is dated the ninth year of Guangxu (1884). Some family members dedicated this to their deceased ancestor's 70th birthday. The first two characters are the name of an island in a fairy tale, inhabited by immortals. The last two characters mean "love spring"...

A Chinese jade plaque 17/18 C. very finely carved and pierced with precious objects e.g the canopy, endless knot etc.This reticulated example with its breathtaking virtuosity and delicate , meticulous detail is a fine example of earlier Chinese lapidary art. The stone is of greyish celadon hue with spots of whitish clouds and is set on the back of a hand mirror in a frame of gilt silver which is worked with a ground of filigree and multi colour enamel decoration...

A superb 64 cm high male attendant carrying his masters war helmet. The figure is decorated with green and orange-yellow glazes and black, red & white pigmentation. It dates to the Ming Dynasty 1368-1644 AD.

This large Chinese scale has metal balance beams and shallow metal bowls. The scale fits into an ornately carved red and black lacquer wooden case which is slightly domed and has its original copper band closure.
There is some wood chip loss around what was the hole for the string which allowed the case to be hung up for storage.
Dating from the 1800's the braided cords which attach the shallow bowls to the metal balance beam appear to be replacement cords...

This old Chinese Ethnic Minority inro is carved from animal horn and has 2 compartments. Each side is carved with a floral motif that is bordered with a key design. These symbols are especially meaningful to the Miao ethnic culture. The inro was worn suspended from the belt by a braided cord. It is a attractive ethnographic relic for the tribal arts collector. Condition is very good and the piece measures approximately 3.5" X 2
Antique Chinese jade archer's ring. The edges are hand-carved with the image of a chimera over a crosshatch ground.

Antique Chinese porcelain bowl, of an oval form with ribbed sides and a famille rose color palette. The yellow sides are incised with various Chinese inscriptions in blue glaze while several key characters are glazed in red. The foot is tall and deeply recessed with a red seal of Daoguang (1821-1850).
The bowl is placed within a dramatic metal display of a fleur de lys design, raising it on narcissus style legs.

Chinese Ming dynasty sancai or green glazed water drooper with human ridding makara fish. 9 cm high 10 cm wide (maybe 12 cm if the tail complete). Missing the tail fish. Free from any repair.
