Good Tang Dynasty gray clay brick/tile depicting “Atlas” type, Yakshi figure seated on a lotus blossom. I was in Taxila, (cradle of Gandharan Civilization) and saw a similar figure. This illustrates the Greco/Roman influence in Tang art. The lotus shows indicates an obvious Buddhist connection. The left side of the face is molded a bit obscure, but no damage. Song brown glaze jarlet...overall in good condition without chips or damage. This jarlet appears to have slumped slightly some time prior to firing. Diameter: 2 and half inches, height 2 and quarter inches.

A beautifully carved and gilt boxwood figure of Guan Yin / Guanyin. The goddess is holding the holy Buddhist scripture and has placed her hand between the open pages. China, Republic period, c 1920. The surface of the carving is covered with a thin layer of red that mixes with the gilt. The figure can be fixed to an oval wooden stand. Height (the stand not included) "4 ¾ / 12.3 cm. Condition: fine.

Tibetan yak butter tea “po cha” or barley beer “chang” bowl carved from burlwood, possibly Rhododendron circa 50 to 100 years old. D:11.8cm/4.6in and H: 5cm/1.9in, there is one worn chip on the edge. A charming old piece- difficult to find these days. This was not turned on a lathe, but entirely carved by hand.

Chinese Export Imari Porcelain Plate, 18th C. Qianlong period 1736-1795, 9" diameter, 1 7/8" high, with Peony flower branches in the center, within more floral branches decorated on the wide border, all the decorations are done with overglaze iron red on top of the underglaze blue, highlighted in gold. There are very tight glaze hairline under the plate about 2" long and another one is 3/4" long, and small chips 1/8" wide under the rim.

Chinese Song / Yuan Dynasty Qingbai Glazed Porcelain Covered Jar

This attractive small covered jar was made during the 13th / 14th Century (Song / Yuan Dynasty). It is coated inside and out in a pale greenish Qingbai glaze that is finely crackled in places. The dome-shaped cover has a carved pattern to give it the appearance of a tiled roof; this jar represents a granary. To the inner surface are the remains of ancient plant/root growths from its long burial.

Fine Small Chinese Song / Yuan Dynasty Celadon Glazed Porcelain Jar

This attractive small porcelain jar was made in the 12th - 14th century during the Song (AD 960 - 1279) or the Yuan Dynasty (1279 - 1368). It is quite "heavily-potted" and coated in a thick pale olive-green glaze. The body, when soft, was indented with five wide vertical impressions to give it a lobed appearance. The foot remains unglazed revealing the pale grey body. There is a small kiln scar to the body.

A well carved bamboo covered box in the shape of a bamboo brush pot ( bitong ) with a decoration of Phoenix and Scholars. Qing Dynasty, nineteenth century. H : 16,2 cm. Diameter : 13,2 cm.
