A Rare 蔡沈Manuscript 書經集傳序 of Song Dynasty was found.
It was in Chinese calligraphy on an old manually made paper.
It is very hard for me to authenticate if it was from Song dynasty or from later dates.
But I would like to present it as an old Chinese calligraphy work of art at least from 19th centuries.

Finely detailed carved bamboo bitong with five panels depicting classic three friends of winter and scholar themes. I bought this in Guangxi Zhuang, in 1995, late Republic period. There is a hole intentionally drilled at the bottom, otherwise excellent condition. H: 13.4cm/5.2in and D: 6.8cm/2.8in.

Rare Chinese Early Tang Dynasty Painted Pottery Figure (AD 618 - 906)

This rare and interesting pottery figure was made during the early part of the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). It is made from a grey pottery that is solid (as opposed to being hollow as are the majority of Tang figures) and relatively highly-fired. It has been "cold painted" in various coloured pigments, very good amounts of which still remain. The figure wears a hood and stands alert with his right hand across his chest...

Unusual 19th century Chinese soapstone double seal of rectangular section with two sides carved with sunken characters. Third catalogue photo includes images of both printing surfaces flipped left to right to show what the imprint of the seals will look like. Nice buff colored stone, crisp carving of the characters, old traces of red seal paste in the grooves of the characters, in excellent condition, very nice scholar’s object. Seal size 1 1/4 x 5/8 inches.

Set of 8 Chinese porcelain plates, each decorated in Kangxi style with a peacock standing in a landscape with its tail fanned out and encircled by an elaborate band with fan and lozenge shaped vignettes of blossoming and fruiting sprigs within diaper bands. Set of 4 interesting Chinese Yuan dynasty brown glaze dishes with sea wave decorations and unknown scripts, most likely Phags pa script, an alphabet designed by the Tibetan monk and State Preceptor as a unified script for the written languages within the Yuan. A stunningly beautiful CHINESE IMPERIAL GREEN DRAGON, 5-Clawed Porcelain Dish. Guangxu (1875-1908) 6 Character reign marking and of the period, QING DYNASTY. The interior depicts a green dragon chasing the Pearl amidst flames. The reverse of the dish has 2 Green 5-clawed imperial Dragons chasing the Pearl and 6 underglazed Guangxu blue script characters reign mark. Good condition overall. Size: 17.5 cm. diameter.

Rare Large Chinese Song / Yuan Dynasty Glazed Buddhist Zodiac Jar

This very rare pottery jar was made during the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279), or possibly the Yuan Dynasty (AD 1279 - 1368) and has been been excavated from a Buddhist site in Yunnan province.

It is made from a buff-coloured pottery that has been coated in a green glaze that is very thin in places.

Around the waist of the jar have been applied twelve mouldings, the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac...

This is an authentic nephrite bead from the Warring States period decorated on all four sides with a meandering design, bracketed by inverted "t" shapes. It measures some 3-1/4" in length and is perforated it's entire length, suitable for suspension or wearing. Some calcification is noted.

A small Chinese export porcelain foo dog done in the Sancai colors of brown, green, and yellow. The dog is standing on a pedestal with a puppy under his left foot. The figurine is marked "CHINA" on it's flat base. The dog measures about 7 3/4" x 3 3/4" x 2 1/4" wide. The condition is excellent with thickly applied enamels.
