An antique Japanese bamboo Ikebana basket in a bowl shape with a gnarled Wisteria handle. Clad in thick diagonal 1 3/4" slats with 2 supporting 1/2 bamboo stalk atop the basket measuring each 5" in length. Split bamboo rope foot. Wisteria handle features 4 appendages which harkens to a stylized dragon. Natural soot patina acquired over years of loving use and display.

This is a very special Japanese cloisonne vase. It is signed Ota Kichisaburo. The vase is loaded with intricate fine work and it is only 6 inches tall. Also note in some of round wire designs there are silver wires that were fused perpendicular to the ribbed form and others are filled with colored enamel. The vase is in excellent condition.

A cultural treasure - our oldest and most important mizusashi: wonderful Chosen Karatsu Tataki Mizusashi from the Momoyama Period (1573 - 1603). It was perfectly thrown first into a cylinder shape and then squeezed and paddled into a distorted pear. Iron oxide glaze has been poured inside and out.

This is a rare and very fine Japanese cloisonne jar covered with tiny butterflies. These butterflies are so small that probably 8 could fit on a little fingernail. It was likely created by Kumeno Teitaro. It stands 4 1/4 inches tall and is 3 5/8 inches wide. Condition is excellent.

A very interesting ceremonial tea bowl produced by one of the oldest generational potting families in Kyoto. In excellent condition with one fine gold repair along the rim; apart from its obvious beauty, this piece is interesting as a conversation piece for its involvement of two generations of Eiraku, a Head Tea Master of Urasenke, and a former Head Priest of Daitokuji.

This is a very fine Japanese cloisonne vase done in the style of Namikawa Yasuyuki. It is not signed but we believe it was made by Honda, another great Meiji era artist. The enamels are rich in color and this heavy vase has a superb high gloss sheen. It stands 4 3/4 inches tall and is in excellent condition.

An antique Japanese Nihon Matsu Kasane (stacking chest on chest) Tansu made entirely of Kirinoki (Paulownia) wood. All original hand forged iron hardware including the Warabite handles. An antique Japanese Gyosho Tansu also known as a merchant peddler's chest made entirely of Kirinoki (Paulownia) wood. Five drawers behind the hinged front door and a sixth drawer below the door. The sides have upper iron cord holding rings and cord holes at the bottom which allowed the merchant to carry this tansu on his back while transporting his wares. A very interesting chawan (tea bowl) from the Korean Joseon period (Richo in Japanese; 1392-1897). This particular piece appears to date from the 15th/ 16th century and comes with what may be the original box and a quite old silk pouch. Japanese early 20th century art deco bronze swan. The swan is done in a silver and gold finish. Beautifully designed and executed by artist, JOSHIN. Signed JOSHIN on the bottom. The swan measures 8 3/8" tall, by 9" long and 3 1/2" wide. Comes with box.

This is a very fine and rare Japanese cloisonne box. The piece could have been made by Kumeno because of the style and quality. This box has been masterfully repaired on the bottom underside to chips in the dark blue enamel. The repair look great with no silver wire work and none of the flowers affected. The box has also not been sprayed. It has gilded bronze rims and this has worn. The box measures 4 3/4 by 4 1/4 and is 2 1/4 inches tall.
