This is Japanese Antique Scale from late Edo 1860's. The scale is made of Bone Rod with three different tick marks on the rod. You can measure, 17 Monme (68.75 gram), 50 Monme (187 gram), and 160 Monme (600 gram). Monme is old Japanese weight scale. The scale bone rod came with brass round tray with threads. Early 19th century boxwood netsuke of a man carrying a cloth bundle on its back with a boy’s head sticking out of it, while a huge dragonfly landed on the father’s sleeve. Wood is lacquered in Negoro style - red lacquer over black, so as it wears the black starts showing, and then the wood. The fronts of his feet have been reattached, repair is done very well, the figure stands on its own. Excellent faces, beautifully worn, really nice feel of age to the piece. Height 2 3/16 inches.

19th century kagamibuta (“mirror lid”) netsuke with metal plate depicting Okame leaning on a large screen as she grabs the belt of an escaping oni who is carrying a large mushroom in its hand. The netsuke is of shunga type with mushroom bearing not so subtle sexual connotation. Japanese Satsuma Earthenware square shape small Censer, Incense Pot, Meiji, 1900, 2 1/8" high, 2" square-top rim, supported by four(4) small bracket feet, the Gold and enamel painting are very small finely done. Each Panel is decorated with flying Dragon, Phoenix Bird and other flying Mythetical animals in round circling cartouche in the middle with accented by detailed design. The condition is good except some raised fine detailed gold paintings are worn.

Late Meiji (1890s to 1912) Japanese boxwood seal set consisting of the seal itself, seal holder and seal paste container, all fitting very well. Excellent quality crisp carving, old red seal paste in the grooves of the seal and in the paste container. Metal stud on the side indicates the position of the top of the imprint. A pair of antique Japanese mixed metal candlesticks made of bronze and silver. The base of the tall candlestick has elephant trunks as legs. The top portion has reliefs of birds in foliage and a dragonfly on lotus leaves. The shorter candlestick has similar reliefs of birds and a dragonfly.

A Japanese Tsukioka Yoshiyoshi tryptch "Toin no Akinotsuki" from the "Legend of the Hero and Warrior" series. Autumn Moon at Toin: Flute Player Yasymasa. The print is signed by Toshiyoshi (1839-1892)who is considered one of the last great masters of ukiyo-e. The triptych is a woodblock print with Katada Chojiro, the publisher hand stamped in the left hand corner.
