Japanese Green Kutani Stoneware Dish, 8 1/4" diameter, 1 3/8" high, with very design of two(2) horses, one is white, other horse is gold, with attendant enjoying two(2) Birds singing on the tree branches in the Forest, surrounded with ornate intricate macramé design in Orange and green overglaze Border. Signed on the bottom "KUTANI" on top of the dark orange color inside the bottom rim, and black scrolling Vine design on top of the overglaze Green. The condition is good, no damages.

19th century wooden netsuke of a hunter with a flintlock rifle trapped by an enormous scrotum of a badger. Uncommon topic in netsuke, excellent crisp carving, superb faces - distressed one of the hunter and cold smiling one of the badger, wonderful hairwork, great detailing of the hands of the hunter and veins on the scrotum, beautiful patina. Signed JURAKU on the foot of the hunter - the artist is listed in NETSUKE by Neil Davey (p. 477, number 962). Length 1 1/2 inches.

Antique Japanese scroll painting, with an arrangement representing a bounty of good fortune. Fish top a bushel of rice and are tied with roped straw in an auspicious presentation meant to bring in a bounty of fortune. Adding to it, three of the Lucky Gods make an appearance in miniature, treating the decoration as if it were a boat or their ship of good luck. Sumi ink on silk. Dates from 18th century.

A crusty wood fired Bizen dish with looping handle, one hemisphere rounded, the other pinched as if for pouring, dating from the Edo period enclosed in an ancient custom fit lacquered Kiri-wood box. It is 23.5 x 22cm x 12.5 cm (roughly 9 inches diameter, 5 inches tall) and is in surprisingly excellent overall condition, with a few nicks to the edge of the foot consistent with age. Evidencing the centuries, there is a loss near the handle to some thicker glaze encrustation...

Antique Japanese mokugyo, fish bell, carved of keyaki (zelkova, elm) wood with traces of red and white lacquer. This wooden temple bell was used by Buddhist priest during religious ceremonies and chants. Laid on it's side on a pillow, the bell was struck to a rhythm to match the cadence of the chant. This is a beautifully detailed Japanese lacquer screen with exceptional quality Maki-e work used to highlight the details. The front depicts a landscape shore scene, complete with a crab stretching upward, a monkey after the fruit in the tree, and the makers signature. The rear has 3 cranes in flight.
