Unusually large 18th century or earlier Japanese sword iron tsuba with pierced decoration of three dragons fighting among scrolling vines. Strong early piece with numerous perforations and three dimensional work, crisp detailing, gilding, excellent wear and patina consistent with age. Height 3.63 inches, width 3..44 inches.
Very large Burmese hammered repousse copper-brass-bronze alloy bowl, with traces of silver, decorated with 4 relief panels depicting rice farming scenes and stylized scroll foliage. Rare Chinese Northern Wei Dynasty Pack Horse (AD 386 - 534)
This rare and interesting pottery model of a pack horse, or pony, was made during the Northern Wei Dynasty (AD 386 - 534). It is made from a buff-coloured pottery that has been "cold painted" with a base coat of white pigment on top of which has been applied black pigment. Note the detail of the pack on its back that includes two water containers and a rabbit.

Beautiful antique Japanese Abura-tsubo bottle. This bottle is painted in traditional blue with the hand painting of a fish. Used to store hair and massage oil. Wonderful condition with no chips or condition problems. The kilm is from the Seto area of Japan.

Very fine red lacquered saber (dao) scabbard fitting from the Nùng people Vietnam. They are well known for their sword making so it makes sense they would put the same effort into their accoutrements. This is an old semi antique piece circa 1950 excellent condition and intricate carving. L: 14cm/5.5in W: 5.9cm/2.3in and Thickness 2.4cm/1in.

This Tunjo is 5 1/2" long. Tunjos are from the Musica culture, 900AD-1500AD. This culture inhabited the high plateau in the area of modern Bogota. Most Tunjos that survived are made from gold or tumbaga. Obviously, many were made from bone, but being an organic material, very few bone ones have survived. In fact, this is the only one I have ever seen. I have had several gold Tunjos and they are unique and beautiful and in much demand. Needless to say, bone Tunjos are extremely rare.
