Japanese wooden chest with a black lacquered body and iron handles on its front and back side, and red lacquered lid. The chest's top and sides are decorated with a gorgeous mother of pearl inlay in the shape of a kiri leaf, from the Tokugawa family. A Japanese "arrow toss" game vase made of copper and decorated with polychrome enamels, the rims and wires are gilt. Showing antiques and auspicious symbols on a white ground, the base with "fuku" mark. The "arrow-toss" game originated from China and was at the beginning very popular with the aristocrats and survived as a pastime well into the Edo period. From an old Swiss private collection. Condition: few traces of usage, the mouth rim is inside a bit bent (see pict. 12)...
Antique Burmese statue of Buddha carved from alabaster. He is portrayed in a Mandalay style, which emerged at the end of the 18th century, in which he sports a bun at the top of his head, has a fleshier face, and is shown seated in a lotus position performing the Bhumispharsa mudra where he touches the Earth as he reaches enlightenment through meditation. Around his wrist is a seal of export. 19th century

Beautiful Japanese keyaki wood zeni bako, or money box, the top of which has a handled door with three studded iron hinges and flower-shaped lockpin, and thin iron slot for depositing money, dropping into a small drawer with an iron lockplate. Two more drawers are in front with kan/ring pulls. Edo period (1615-1867)

Chinese Qing (Kangxi or Yongzheng) Dynasty deep cobalt blue under-glaze snuff bottle depicting a Dragon in the clouds and a smaller Dragon in the waves near the base. Wonderful shape, vivid colors with beautiful artistry. Unfortunately, there are several chips at the base and this piece is therefore priced accordingly. Cork stopper, no lid. Chinese cylindrical bamboo brush pot, carved and pierced with a man leading a horse away from a pine tree, 19th century era. Size; Height of carving is 5.5 inches, no condition issues.
This ultra-rare Spiro Mound shell carving is 2 1/4" and has two suspension holes. The shell is translucent and shows beautiful patina. The holes are correct. The figure appears to be holding a ceremonial monolithic flint mace. The figure is wearing an elaborate necklace with a cross pendant and ear spools. It also has a weeping eye motif.
