Showing a wide array of surface variations including a thick Shino together with large areas of an iron red glaze with the face of the bowl being covered in deposited ash from an intense wood firing. Elegant Irabo glazed chawan by Takatori legend, Miraku Kamei. This chawan has a Chinese influenced form while being made and glazed in the Takatori style. The flowing irabo ash glaze contrasts nicely against the reddish takatori fine clay.
