This large and highly animated E-Shino mizusashi was made by internationally known and exhibited potter, Suzuki Goro. Made in Suzuki's classic "free wheeling" style, the careful use of iron under the glaze and the glaze itself has painted a Momoyama ink painting style image in a rather monumental way. Brilliant firing affects decorate this deep tapering cup of raw clay by Tsuji Seimei enclosed in the original signed wooden box. A classic work relying truly on Tsuchi-no-aji, or the taste of the clay. There is no attempt at overt decoration of sculpture, just a perfectly formed cup with a slightly wider base blasted in the furnace with black charring, thin rivulets of molten ash and lots of Hi-iro.
