RARE:Set of 4 malachite and sterling SHOT glasses by William Spratling, made during the CONQUISTADOR period, Mexico, c.1949. Spratling had a contract with Conquistador and produced 300 items during 1949-1951. He received royalties for the designs and the items were made by Conquistador. The silver shot glass sits on a square malachite base. They each measure 2" high and the base is 1" square. Each pair is attached with an original piece of twine...

The story of this Mexican Deco silver and turquoise hinged bangle is an interesting one. When it came to me, it had a rather hastily applied gold plating that looked both out of place and, should I say?, garish. I cannot understand why anybody would do such a thing yet many a time, in discussions with older bench jewelers, I have been told that a few decades ago this was indeed a trend of sorts...

We have to offer a design 252 Old Los Castillo with the linear hallmarks. You can see the hand hammering on the back and the top is deeply hand chased. There is no damage or repairs to this cared for treasure. This jewel displays a pectoral which is 4in. across and 2in. at highest point tall. This is a published book piece in Penny Morrills books on Mexican Silver. The weight confirms quality at 104 grams of silver...

Early 1940's sterling silver necklace signed by Taxco, Mexico silver Maestro Los Castillo. The design features 11 chanel set cabochon globes of cobalt blue glass. 3 globes are framed by abstract silver agave leaves. Necklace measures 15 1/2" wearable inches long. The center pendant is 2" from top to bottom. Hallmarked on the back with the early linear LOS CASTILLO TAXCO STERLING MEXICO and pattern # 298. Gorgeous unpolished patina. Beautiful vintage condition with no nicks or cracks to glass...

A sterling silver necklace in an Arts and Crafts Celtic design.

The necklace is not marked, but the clasp is marked 925 for sterling and also has a tiny mark, maybe a stylized 'S' that we can't identify.

Central pendant measures 2 1/8" across and 2 1/4" high including the dangle. Necklace measures 17 1/2" long. Has a spring clasp that holds securely.

Warm patina, quality piece.

This Adolph Katz Coro sterling craft framed roosters brooch 42 is 1 5/8" by 1 1/2" . It is Des. 132,337 dated May 5, 1942.

Most of these designs were borrowed from George Jensen designs. It is gold vermeil over sterling.

There is plating wear on the high spots and the upper right hand corner.

This is a 14K Charm....depicting a rider horse & sulky. With movable wheels the size is 7/16" X 15/16". Marked 14K on the flank of the Horse date this Gold charm ca. 1950

This Miriam Haskell gold-plated peacock brooch has feathers outlined in strands of blue rhinestones. This Haskell pin has the usual characteristics of an antique Russian gold finish, brass wire and stampings, findings wired together, and hand-set stones.

This pin is 2 7/8" wide by 2 1/2" tall.

This Trifari sterling alfred Philippe jelly belly spider pin is sterling vermeil,with rhinestones and lucite. It was designed by Alfred Philippe in 1943. It is 2" by 1 7/8". Lucite jelly bellies were copied from figurals originally done in gold and rock crystal.

This sterling circus horse pin looks a lot like David Mir's circus horse except that this circus horse is made of sterling vermeil. It is 2 1/2" tall and 2 1/4" wide. It is hallmarked sterling. The only major difference is the lack of enameling. This horse also has very elaborately decorative trimmings. I know that the real one for sure is worth $1600.00 +_ if you can find one.

Spratling designed this pin in 1942 as part of a series of items depicting continental solidarity. The pin shows clasped hands superimposed over a gold gilded map of the western hemisphere. This pin was made in two sizes, this being the larger at 1 1/2" x 1 1/4". The fastener is a two pronged clip. Both pin and original fastener are in excellent condition. In 1942 Macy's Dept. Store did an entire window dedicated to this design...

Luminous Obsidian stones are at the center of this large and lovely Antonio Pineda Bracelet in a design known as the Swans. Measuring 1 1/4" wide by 7 1/3" long it is a bracelet with a bold modernist style. Very heavy at 108 grams. Secure clasp and attached safety chain. Hallmarked with the Antonio Taxco crown, 970, Hecho en Mexico, Silver and the eagle 17. The Swan design in the form of a Necklace is featured in the book Silver Seductions. This is a gorgeous bracelet with an impressive style.

Lovely silver and copper pin by Enrique Ledesma, Mexico, c.1947. Unusual design with hand stamped hearts and butterflies with copper overlay. Made of heavy gauge silver, it measures 2 3/4" long by 1 3/4" wide. Signed "925 LEDESMA PLATERIA CORTES HECHO EN MEXICO bellmark 3" and is in excellent condition. Made by Ledesma and possibly sold by Plateria Cortes(another shop). Very unique and lovely....$10 for insure USA shipping and NYS residents pay sales tax.
