A stunning pair of 18K yellow gold cufflinks by one of Italy's greatest 20th century jewelry artists, Nino D'Antonio Germano. Germano was born into an important family of Roman jewelers in 1926 and came of age during World War II. He was inspired by designs from antiquity, and his pieces often feature ancient Greek, Roman and Etruscan grotesques, masks and other elements. He was principally a sculptor, but made a very small amount of jewelry using the lost wax method of casting...

This lovely, early 1960's sterling silver pin is depicts a lovely grapevine. It is in excellent condition and measures 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" (as well as convex). The back is marked STERLING BY JEWELART.

Fabulous vintage wired sautoir with coral color poured glass beads in many different shapes spaced along a goldtone chain. Probably French, circa 1950. Fabulous 1960s French collier made from goldtone metal and wired glass beads simulating different colors of jade, coral, amber, turquoise, carnelian, and lapis. Also with small goldtone metal fluted beads which I have had on another signed French necklace. Slide clasp with matching wired beads. I had a very very similar necklace several years ago, with a slightly different clasp. Wearable length is 16 inches. The drop is 2 1/4 inches. Excellent condition. Photos enlarged to show detail...

Very chic unusual vintage 1970s French long sautoir necklace with double snake chains in dark goldtone metal, and stations with large translucent tortoise Lucite rings with large rhinestone balls with brilliant clear rhinestones, and a characteristically French S hook clasp. The rings reference French Art Deco glass rings found on necklaces from the 1920s and 1930s. 33 inches wearable length and 1 1/16 inches wide at the rings...

This mid-century bracelet was produced by "RMM", and is based upon an Antonio Pineda design. I have the Antonio bracelet, with amethyst stones, listed in my shop. It's a fabulous hand-wrought modernist piece, with twelve rectangular aventurine bars which are angled on the ends. Stones are all hand-carved and polished. The aventurine stones alternate with silver cones...

Circa mid-century, this bracelet is the work of Felipe Martinez / Piedra Y Plata. Martinez, who had worked with Hubert Harmon in the 1940's, opened his shop "Piedra Y Plata" in 1950. Before opening his shop Martinez had been an expert sculptor. Features six dense green stones and a superb modernist design, Martinez was known for selecting spectacular stones, and this bracelet does not disappoint. Measures a closed, wearable length of 6 3/8", with a width of 11/16"...

Charming sterling and white coral clip back earrings with a flower motif by Carmelo "Pat" Patania who was the brother of Frank Patania Sr. They measure 1 1/4" by 1 1/4" and are in fine original condition. Weighing 22 grams total, they are signed as shown. Lovely on.

Perfect to dangle your lucky charms from this long 14K rose gold rope chain with box link chain measures 2mm with spring ring clasp, marked 14K on chain and clasp, circa 1960's. The piece measures a total of 30" in length and weighs 14.5grams. Condition is excellent.

A retail shop in Taxco, according to Bille Hougart, Plateria Cortes is a name also found on some of Enrique Ledesma pieces, most probably because they were sold there. So my first thought when I saw this set of vintage Mexican silver surrealist earrings was that they might have been made by Ledesma. And then it all came back to me - a couple of years ago, I sold three sets of earrings in the same exact style (and actually even a pair like the one at hand) clearly signed for Sigi Pineda...

Fleshy, slick and so mod this set of vintage Mexican Antonio Pineda earrings is wrought in his favorite fine (.970) silver alloy in the form of heart-shaped leaves. Antonio's jewelry, no matter how many elements combined in a design, if unfailingly sculptural and shamelessly tactile. It is very difficult to restrain oneself and not keep passing one's fingers over the masterfully worked, perfectly finished silver...

The "queen" of shadowbox designs, Victoria - otherwise Ana Maria Nunez de Brilanti - also excelled in the "married metals" technique. Her work is inspired, of the highest quality and today it is considered part of Mexico's 20th c. Silver Renaissance design index. The adjustable sterling silver ring I am presenting here is out of her coveted "angel" parure. The form does not come up very often and I am happy to have come upon a beautifully aged example...

Signed by Victoria who is often credited in the relevant literature with having perfected the "mixed metals" technique this big, bold combination pin / pendant brings together sterling silver, copper and brass in an Aztec Revival design. I am fascinated by the seamless marrying of the metals in "casados" pieces and Ana Nunez de Brilanti excelled in their design and crafting. Here, the round "shield" element is slightly concave and catches the light in ever-changing, fascinating ways...

Fabulous clip earrings in heavy antiqued dark goldtone metal with prong set opaque white glass stones and matching white glass beads in filigree end caps. These are probably French, however they do have a very Haskellesque look (Haskell jewelry designers drew on French and Italian traditions for inspiration). Circa 1950 or 1960.
