An elegant modernist long chain necklace worked in 18K yellow gold and featuring black onyx and green nephrite jade beads. The onyx beads are carved in a melon motif, while the jade beads are left smooth. The jade has even, lightly-mottled color and good translucency. At 33”, the necklace is long enough to be worn at full length or doubled. The combination of strong colors with the yellow gold is very chic. The clasp is marked by an unidentified maker “Ste F”.

A nice man's ring featuring a large cat’s eye quartz cabochon. The stone has pronounced chatoyancy (the cat’s eye effect) with excellent color contrast. The interior of the shank is stamped “10K.”

An impressively large 18K yellow gold Venetian Etruscan fob charm or pendant in a crown shape set with large oval amethysts enhanced with smaller round amethysts. The gold surfaces are enhanced with twisted wire, rosettes and beading. The amethysts have very rich, deep violet coloring. Marked “750” for 18K.

A very attractive 18K yellow gold ring set with an amethyst by the famed mid-century Brazilian designer Haroldo Burle Marx. Burle Marx is well-known for his free form designs, but his collaborations with his brother, the landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx, had a much more linear, abstract feel as in this piece. The amethyst at the center is of the very finest quality, with intensely purple color and excellent clarity...

A magnificent and rare sterling and striped agate bracelet by Bent Knudsen, Denmark, circa 1950. The highly polished striped agate stones absolutely pop and the oval shape is a great contrast in design to the alternating square links with cut out circles. The bracelet measures 7 1/4"-7 1/2" around in the inside when closed and is 1 3/4" wide. It weighs a very hefty 137 grams. The original safety chain is intact. Fine original condition, no chips or cracks to the stones...

Made by Kupittan Kulta of Finland is this pleasant, silver, leaf brooch. The long leaves are slightly concave, curving alongside a bezel-set, amethyst cabochon "bud." The brooch is signed, “anvil mark” (for Kupittaan Kulta), “crown in heart” mark (for Finland), “813H” (silver fineness), city mark for Turku and “H7” for 1961. It measures 2 5/8” tall x 5/8” at its widest point. It’s in excellent condition.

Fabulous 1960s or 1970s big glass beaded necklace with jewel tone art glass beads, most likely French. A vintage sterling silver geometric bracelet designed by Gine Sommerfelt for J. Tostrup, Norway. Made up of eleven curved links. Sommerfelt worked at Tostrup until 1964 when she started her own workshop.

Measures 7 3/4" long and just under an 2 inches wide. Signed with the Tostrup logo, 925S, and the stylized GS for Gine Sommerfelt on the back. Hook clasp holds securely.

In very nice condition, has some minor surface scratches.

The epitome of minimalism and the best proof that when it's done correctly, it is the most elegant style, this vintage Danish sterling silver and banded agate ring is signed by Bruno Jorgensen who was active in Virum until his death in 1973. There is nothing about this piece I would change - I love the way the flat cut of the stone reveals its two colors; I love the laconic design of the silver setting; and that touch of black enamel which accentuates the stepped construction of its bezel...

Here is a beautiful, ornate, Norwegian sterling silver and enamel bracelet. It consists of 8 butterfly-shaped, linked panels of pearly white guilloche enamel. Each panel has a lovely applied wirework decoration with beaded center. The bracelet has a safety chain and a V-spring and box clasp, on which, “925 S STERLING NORWAY” is marked, along with a maker’s mark of (what looks to me like) an “E” inside a lobed oval. (I am unfamiliar with this artist’s hallmark). The bracelet is a...
