It is always exciting when I stumble upon a Mexican chain necklace made of polished, tumbled hard-stones caged in sterling silver. When that example happens to be from the pre-1948 period, I am elated! A nice Victorian 14K gold by-pass bangle bracelet, the top adorned with a spray of wheat set with turquoise cabochons and tiny seed pearls. A vintage modernist sterling silver bracelet by Taxco artisan, Erika Hult de Corral in a stylized chevron design. Marked Ric, Taxco SA, Hecho en Mexico, and 925. Also has style number 40.

Measures 6 1/4" around the inside and 2 3/4" long at the front. Better for a smaller wrist although I think it was made to stay in place and not spin around. Clasp snaps securely. There is a safety catch for extra security.

Has some minor surface scratches and a little tarnish...

Very nice Victorian shakudo pin featuring a wonderful scene of Mt. Fuji. The foreground shows two quail, worked in gold, foraging amidst incredibly detailed wildflowers. The snow on the peak of Mt. Fuji is picked out in silver. The entire pin is beautifully patinated. After the samurai system in Japan ended, highly skilled swordmakers turned to jewelry as a way of continuing their centuries-old skills. The pin retains its original pinstem and clasp.

Striking geometric modernist design matte enamel on brass pendant, Germany, c.1950's. It measures 1 5/8" by 1 1/2", not including the bale and is in excellent condition. This kind of enamel work was done in Germany during this time, but there is no signature. A nice, early pair of cuff links from Newark, NJ, maker Krementz and Co. The 14kt gold oblong buttons have a recessed floral design, embedded with white, blue and yellow vitreous enamel. There is very minor wear to the enamel, visible only through magnification. The bridge bars are secure and exhibit no stress or wear; they bear the Krementz mark of 14 K. with an impressed collar button...

A wonderfully crafted sterling silver brooch with leaves and cherries by the Chicago silver firm, Kalo. Measures approximately 1 1/8" across and 1" high. Marked Hand Wrought Sterling Kalo. Has a rollover safety clasp that holds tightly. Beautiful condition.

RARE:Set of 4 malachite and sterling SHOT glasses by William Spratling, made during the CONQUISTADOR period, Mexico, c.1949. Spratling had a contract with Conquistador and produced 300 items during 1949-1951. He received royalties for the designs and the items were made by Conquistador. A delightfully feisty-looking cat is featured in the French Art Nouveau brooch. We’re particularly fond of his enormously long whiskers that stretch the full width of the pin. The pin is stamped with French silver marks and with an illegible maker’s mark.

NOTE: The pin could be worn as a pendant with the addition of a bail to the back.
