Clifford Addams, American, 1876-1942, "Dreamer by the Thames". This is a great London etching by American artist Clifford Addams, image size 8 7/8 x 7 1/2 inches, c. 1902, edition of 75, inscribed in the plate, "Loci dulcedo nos attinet" (the sweetness of the place holds us), pencil signed and numbered. Clifford Addams grew up outside Philadelphia and studied art in the U. S. before leaving to further his studies in Europe...

Robert Sargent Austin 1895-1973 English This is a finely detailed line engraving by British artist Robert Sargen Austin. The title is: "The Pack Bridge, Aylestone, Leicestershire". The image measures 4 13/16X4 7/16 inches. It was created and printed in 1926 and appears in the Dodgson catalog as image number 65. It was printed in an edition of 60.

An Old Master woodcut illustration of Theuerdank defeating another knight, one of 118 cuts illustrating one of the greatest books of the German Renaissance, going by that same name, Theuerdank. The book is considered something of a chivalric romance, relating the fictionalized, romanticized adventures of Maximilian I in the course of his journey to the Netherlands in 1477 to fetch his bride, Mary of Burgundy...

Oil on canvas painting of waves breaking on the beach at sunset, (titled on reverse "Fading Sun"), measuring 16" by 20" unframed, signed at lower right by artist CARYL WOOD, the wife of famed landscape painter Robert Wood. Caryl was an amateur painter when she met the already famous Robert Wood in 1953 after he sustained serious injuries when hit by a car on Pacific Coast Highway. The couple married and Robert instructed her in painting, taking her along on painting trips...

A classic painting of the California desert and mountains, oil on Masonite, 12" by 15" (15" by 18" in vintage old frame possibly carved by artist), signed lower left by noted California impressionist JOSEPH FREY (1892-1977). This is likely a view looking west towards the towering 11,000 foot high Mt. San Jacinto massif which looms over Palm Springs. The artist has interestingly painted in a "liner" border in a cream color; this is part of the painting and not a linen liner...

Nan Greacen was the daughter of the well-known American artist Edmund Greacen. She was born in Giverny, France, where her father was an active disciple of Claude Monet in the art colony there. Nan attended the Grand Central Art School co-founded by her father, and received instruction from the likes of Arshile Gorky, Wayman Adams and Jerry Farnsworth, as well as from her father...

A miniature painting of a lovely young woman attired in a double strand coral necklace and a blue gown with puffy sleeves and a pink flower at the waist sash. Excellent condition with no issues, and in a period black wood frame. Sight size is 3 1/2" by 2 7/8", and the framed size is 5 5/8" by 4 1/2".

The subject is a complex industrial machine, with lots of cables and wires, steel and wheels, and even some sparks coming from somewhere...

This is a really pretty watercolor on heavy watercolor paper by an obvious talent, 14" by 20" (22 1/2" by 28 1/4" as framed), the subject picturesque boats tied up along the banks of an idyllic stretch of river, a boathouse at left and a few figures completing the impressionist composition. The work's varieties of impressionistic blues are quite lovely, and there is simply excellent handling of color and light. The only fault, really, is that the artist did not sign the piece...

20th Century American School 1900-1999 American Artists This is an original painting, Gouache and watercolor on blue toned paper. This view of Rowers in the park came to us unsigned, we do not know who painted it, it was created circa 1930's nicely framed, the image measures 8 1/2X12 inches. Rich colors, nicely framed with archival materials. The overall frame measures 15X18 inches. Unexamined out of the frame. Most likely a work by one of the 1930's American Illustrators...

Peter Moran, American, 1842-1914, "Through the Meadows". This is a beautiful, richly inked original etching by Peter Moran, image size 13 x 19 7/8 inches, published in 1886 by Klackner. It is state IV/IV, cat: Wright-92, pencil signed and titled on the lower margin. This image is listed with the title "Through the Meadow Stream" in the Wright catalog, although there are several alternate titles including the one that appears on this impression.

Obra De Hans Suliman Grudzinski pencil signed lithograph titled .Sheet size: 21" x 31" pin holes at corners and handling creases, the image area is very good and framing would cover any flaws. Provenance: Estate of Peggy & David Rockefeller having stamp/label
