An Italian miniature painting on natural wafer, Signed lower left "Mario Salvi". The sitter is identified, in the family history on the reverse, as Olivia Pia Salvi.

Olivia, a pretty young woman in a pale blue gown, is painted in a soft manner, with luminescent skin tones, as was the Italianate style of the time. The artist composed the painting very carefully, with the almost cloud-like hair framing the face and curling down to follow the neckline of her dress...

The print consists of vertical strokes, a mid-1960s series of six different images. The sun is large and shimmering. The paper is very heavy; the print is in good condition. It measures 12.5 “ x 18”.

Frank Benson, American, 1862-1951, "Flying Widgeon". A very fine sporting etching by Frank Benson, this image measures 9 3/4 x 14 3/4 inches, published in 1924, cat: Ordeman-231, pencil signed below the image, titled on the lower edge of the sheet. A beautifully executed miniature portrait painting, on natural organic wafer, signed and dated, lower left, "Legenvre 1813". The sitter is a nice looking young gentleman with curly hair and hazel eyes, wearing a dark blue coat, white shirt and ascot, and pink edged vest.

Condition is excellent, with no cracks, bowing, or restoration...

In 1970 the famous collector of Japanese art Felix Juda commissioned Haku Maki to produce at least 3 different sets of cards for greeting and thanks. Here we show three. The 4th image may have been one such card or a small print. I have owned it for many years and am still studying it. The ones done for Juda varied in attractiveness. The green one is vintage Maki: good design, good color, and good composition. It is only 5”x 5” but packs a wallop...
