The temple is a San Francisco landmark, the home of one of the oldest Jewish congregations in California, its heritage going back to the Gold Rush...

Here's an unusual item, a painting on white milk glass, in oil, measuring 5 1/2" by 7 1/2" and 8" by 10" as framed. The somewhat folk art feeling work is not signed. I would judge the age as anywhere from about 1880 to about 1920----a nautical type could probably date this more accurately by noting in which decade such a ship would have existed. Condition is good with minor paint losses from scratches and aging. However the small losses are not really noticeable at normal viewing distance...

Original lithograph print, 1976, featuring, a typical Boulanger figure reclining on his back, looking up at clouds which incorporate the names and locales of galleries worldwide in which exhibitions of the artist's work are about to be held. There are a number of variants of this poster, the top portion focusing on the gallery and location; this one is for Meridian Gallery of Indianapolis, Indiana...

Black and White wood block print "Celestial Destiny" by T Le Tigre 2007 india ink on heavy rag paper 221/4" by 15"

An impressionistic watercolor painting of a tree and brushy field, 9" by 8" (13" by 12" in wood frame), signed at lower left and dated there 1929 by artist EMMY LOU OSBORNE. I do not see biographical information on the artist but clearly she was a talented watercolorist. Condition is excellent.

A small unframed painting of a creek or pond in the forest, 3 3/4" by 5 1/2", signed at lower right and dated 1918 by early San Francisco artist ALICE MEUSSDORFFER (1871-1949). The work, roughly the size of an index card, is painted in oil on a thin card laid on a thicker card. Meussdorffer was born in San Francisco in 1871, the daughter of a well-known hat maker...

Oil on canvas, circa late nineteenth century, 21 1/2" by 26 3/4" and about one inch wide framing, unsigned, featuring feathery trees, distant snowy mountains, a lake with small sail craft, and a gentleman pulling in nets on another small boat. This painting is in need of restoration, but, I believe it well worth saving for posterity. There are some holes, the largest about 3/4" by 1/2", at lower left, a similar one at upper left, and some much smaller punctures at far right...

Pre-1940 painting of mountains and waterfall, unsigned, measuring 16" by 30" (19 1/4" by 33 1/2" framed), in the loosely impressionist style popular since the early years of the century. Ideal for vacation cabin or other rustic home. As found---some digs and light scratches are present. See photos.

Stated "One of twenty" prints by illustrator and children's book publisher. Helena Chase Johnson. The print is also marked "For Norman" along with her signature. An interesting note -- Chase owned The Little Hotel by the Sea (located at the Grande Colonial Hotel in La Jolla, Calif.) The hotel boasted of having a beautiful six-passenger mahogany elevator, making it "The Littlest Hotel in the World with an Elevator."

This is an antique painting of a rose in a tall glass vase, 13 1/2" by 5 3/8" framed, unsigned, circa 1900. Found in Rockland, Maine. The work, being of an unusual shape, might be that perfect addition to your narrow little space. There is wear on frame and the painting has even light soiling consistent with its age.

This is a pencil signed etching, 6 1/2" by 5" inside the overmat, (12 1/2" by 10 1/2" as framed), not titled, but depicting waterfront shacks and piers with a working boat in an industrial area, by noted San Francisco Bay area artist HERBERT IMRIE (1885-1976). Imrie, born in Napa and deceased in Marin County, was for many years associated with the Berkeley area. Exhibited in the 1939 Golden Gate exposition, he was president of the California Society of Etchers...

Vintage hazy focus, colorized photo of coastal Santa Monica, looking north and west towards Malibu, 11 1/2" by 9 5/8" as framed in pleasing Southwest style design wood frame. On the frame reverse is written in and old hand in ink "Santa Monica Bay" and "No. 5044". This was found in Connecticut and I recently brought it back home. During its journey around the country it acquired some surface scratches and other issues, as shown in the photos...

"In the French engraving Le Lever after Freudenberg, of the 1780s (illustration, right), gentle social criticism is levelled at the lady of the court; that she slept without unlacing her stays, apparently, perhaps can be seen as artistic licence...

A group of three engravings probably by Johannas and Raphael Sadeler of Christian anchorites or hermits. The prints are after Maartin De Vos. These images were widely circulated in the early 17th century and printed and re-engraved by engravers other than the Sadelers. Interestingly of the three in this group two have no title, though they are trimmed right to the image and perhaps the title was removed...

A charcoal and color chalk drawing of a young boy, 8 1/2" by 4 1/2" inside the mat and 11 1/2" by 7 1/2" framed, apparently unsigned. The work is affixed at three edges to another sheet, I was able to peer into the back via the open side and do not see any writing or other information there. The drawing extends beyond the mat, as shown. Nicely executed work by unknown artist.
