Aquatint on paper laid on board, 1924, "Le Village d'Herouville", 18 3/4 " by 24" inside the mat, and 26 1/4" by 31" framed, after an original by the famous and important French modern artist MAURICE de VLAMINCK (1876-1958), adopted for reproduction by equally noted artist Jacques Villon (11875-1963). Vlaminck is known as a Fauvist and later simply as an expressionist. At auctions, his works in oil bring from the low hundreds of thousands of dollars to the low millions...

John Sloan 1871-1951 American This is an original etching by American Ash Can School artist John Sloan. The title is: Boys Sledding, it was created and printed in 1920 in an edition of 100. This impression is hand signed in pencil, titled and annotated a "100 Proofs in the lower border. The image mesures 5 1/4X6 15/16 inches. Printed on a medium weight wove type sheet, with tack holes where the artist held the sheet down to dry. Very fine condition.

Arthur J. T. Briscoe, British, 1873-1943, "Drydock". This 1928 marine etching by the British printmaker Arthur Briscoe measures 12 1/8 x 8 7/8 inches, hand signed in ink and editioned as 7/75. Briscoe studied at the Slade Art School and the Academy Julian in Paris and then spent the rest of his time sailing, becoming one of the most prominent British marine artists of the 20th century. He owned his own three ton cutter which he used to sail around the Essex coast...

Pencil signed (with the cypher) etching, 1928, the titel "Old St. Michael's, Charleston". The artist is noted American artist ALFRED HEBER HUTTY (1877-1954). Hutty was born in Michigan and as a youth lived in Kansas City and St. Louis, where he attended art school. In 1907 he moved to Woodstock, New York, where, along with George Bellows, he founded the Woodstock art colony, with which he was associated until the end of his life...

A fine color soft-ground etching and aquatint by the noted, prolific Czech master artist TAVIK FRANTISEK SIMON (1877-1942), featuring the famous and much-loved "bouquiniste" bookstalls along the Seine in Paris, Notre Dame in the mid background. The original sheet measures 15 7/8" by 20 1/8". The print is signed in pencil at lower right by the artist and bears number "329" in the lower left margin...

A very rare lithograph by the British artist Edmund Blampied measuring 17 1/2 x 14 inches, pencil signed and numbered 3/3. Edmund Blampied was a very successful artist and illustrator in early 20th century Britain. He illustrated many books and magazines, but is best known for his remarkable skills as a printmaker. He was an important figure in the 'British Etching Revival' of the early 20th century, and was elected to the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers in 1920.

Watercolor and ink drawing of the Seine in Paris by Notre Dame, 7" by 8 3/4" (13" by 15" framed), signed at lower left in pencil "Leprin". This COULD be a work by well listed artist MARCEL LEPRIN (1891-1933). I hesitate to state unequivocally that it is, as the long hand signature differs from the commonly seen all-capital letters version. The artist was known to do very similar works of Paris, and many other parts of France, from Normandy to Marseilles...

Sir Francis Dodd, British (1874-1949), "Charles March Gere," This drypoint etching of the English landscape painter, Charles March Gere, c. 1927, measures 12 x 10 1/4 inches and is pencil signed on the lower right margin. Francis Dodd was born in Wales and trained at the Glasgow School of Art winning the Haldane Scholarship in 1893 enabling him to travel and study in France, Italy and Spain. During WWI he became a portrait war artist producing more than 30 portraits of senior officers...
