Cassini, Giovanni-Marie, "Graffitto, c. 1780, hand-colored copper plate engraving, Crisp impressions with sharp features, full original color and margins as issued. All in excellent condition, rare. Dimensions are 24" x 19" with the frame.

Very large 18th century stipple engraving of a fashionable crowd under the trees in the park with Buckingham house (later altered to become Buckingham Palace) in the background. Titled, “The Promenade in St. James Park,” it was engraved by F. D. Soiron, designed by Edward Dayes in 1790 and published by T. Gaugain in London in 1793. This image is the original print with hand coloring. Sight size 18 by 26 inches, frame 27 ¼ by 35 ¼ inches.

Condition: some discoloration and minor foxing...

18th Century Dutch School, "Pastoral Scene", Ink and wash, image size 9 3/4 x 13 7/8 inches, inscribed "J. Bosch 1773 in de manier van N. Berchem met stoffazie na A.v.d.Velde.", In the manner of Nicolae Berchem (Dutch, 1620-1683) and Adriaen van de Velde (Dutch, 1636-1672)on reverse, framed.

An antique red chalk European drawing on laid paper, sheet 8 1/4" by 6 3/4" (15 3/4" by 12" in 20th century frame), unsigned, the subject an aristocratic woman formally dressed, with upswept hair of the period. One wonders if this might be Marie Antoinette herself, or someone else who might have been caught up in the 1789 storming of the Bastille and the infamous Reign of Terror. There is a watermark in the old paper. Taped at top edge only...

A scarce botanical mezzotint engraving of the plant species "Caryophyllus gramineus humilis" (carnation), plate No. 330, from Phytanthoza Iconographia, 1737-1745, considered the first important botanical work to use color engraving prints. The work is known for the accuracy and beauty of the prints, which can now bring impressive sums at Sotheby's and Christie's auctions in London...

A circa 18th century engraving of stone arch bridge over a river, more than likely in Italy, 10 3/8" by 15 7/8" inside the ornately drawn mat and 16 1/2" by 22 1/2" in a contemporary distressed style complementary silvery-colored frame. The work is not visibly signed. A google reverse image search did not turn up a matching image...

Authentic antique, large 18th-century Greek Orthodox icon triptych, finely hand-painted on wood panels. The center wooden panel has a niche carved as a raised arch. Within is an image of the crowned Mother of God (Theotokos), flanked by the Greek script.

The Virgin crowned and nimbate, in a richly embroidered veil, supports a small, rather adult-looking Christ child on the one hand...

This image identified in the lower border has an image size of 9 3/4X7 7/8 inches. Printed on an early laid type paper, some foxing but overall very fine condition. It has a collectors seal in the lower border, "H de t stat".

Antique Two panel Japanese byobu screen depicting the first frost at waters edge. Japanese herons and mandarin ducks contently rest and foliage with a light dusting of snow screen depicted on the late white plumb blossom tree. Three ducks rest and warm themselves beneath the near barren tree. A pair of Japanese herons are seem amoungst the water with sprouted bamboo and flowering water lilly. In Japan the white heron is known to be able to move between three elements air, earth and water...
